Thanks guys. I ran into some problems with the paint yesterday. I sprayed a coat of Tamiya clear, let it flash, put a second coat on, and left for dinner. When I returned 1 1/2 hours later to admire my work of art, about 30% of the orange was lifting, wrinkling, and sagging down on the sides. Needless to say I'm f**king pissed. I tried to use some Castrol Super Clean, but it won't touch the paint. I have to remove 9 layers of paint, any ideas? I've hear brake fluid works, but I wonder if it would be easier to aquire another body, and start over.......

Hey, thanks Pat. How are you these days? Haven't heard anything from you for awhile. Are you still making custom stuff? I heard you were taking a break awhile back. I might have a small job for you......

Alright, I have NEW PAINT! I'm actually happy that the whole clearcoat fiasco happened, I like the new paint color way better. I think this pic is badass I also built the spare tire mount. I need to work on the rock sliders, some bumper details, roof rack, and more. |

damn what a far departure from the nats rig. im loving it. really great to see the craftsmanship on a "modern" build. i like the tread pattern and width of the spare, more than the real tires... youll love the performance of those flat irons. |

I was liking the other color pretty well but the new color is off the chain. It really gives it some POP. Bumpers are sick for sure. The overall package is really looking great. The only criticism I have is that the spare is so big. I don't know if I'd change it or not though, I like that it matches and the tires look great. |

Looks good Tim. I'm thinking you should rake the spare tire a little toward's the truck like my 1:1 was. I think it fit's the bodyline better and will givea hair better angle for that back tire draggin on steep climb's off flat serface's. Also, since you asked earlier on the phone...maybe run the rear bumbers further around the side's in the rear to fill the gap a little between tire and bumper. Notice the again on my 1:1. It was originally a 3 peice(each side seperate from rear) became a one peice after a few big hit's off ledge's. One other thing, If your needing a little more uptravel...I trimmed my fender's up to get rid of the flat area still leaving the flared edge, don't know if it's necessary but would still be scale considering I chopped the hell out of my 1:1's fender's..lol. Can't wait to see it in person this weekend. Last edited by H3RESQ; 09-24-2008 at 08:44 PM. |

Got stuck working on another project, but I'm back on this one now. I got the rack built, and a few scale accessories. I have a couple other things done, but I have to keep them secret for now. Also machined a new floor pan/skid/body mount. Crap, I left the truck at a friends in Gresham over night, some meth head stole my wheels and tires. That's OK, didn't like them much anyways.... good thing I have some new wheels on order at the local tire shop.......... |

Had a chance to tear the whole chassis down and paint everything black. Got the sliders done, and painted the extra body. Naked shots first. With the new body and tubework. |
