Default CC01 Pajero with roof rack and scale stuff (Finished with Video)

A couple weeks ago I got to drive nodnarb's Pajero in stock form and was impressed. Since then I have watched him add the body lift, roof rack, and new tires. The scale aspect of these rigs really got my attention. When I found a good deal on ebay I had to go for it.

This is what I'm starting with.

Complete Pajero kit for $147 shipped. Apparently the box was smashed in shipping so the body has some damage. That is why it was being sold and went for such a low price. I considered it a good deal and a challenge.

This is the progress I have made on in so far.

The chassis is assembled with locked front and rear diffs. It has the stock motor but I have a 21 turn Peak Racing motor I may try in it or I may order a Lathe. I have 2 other crawlers so this is going to be more of a trail truck so I may keep a faster motor in it. I did the body lift and put on some HPI wheels and mudslingers for mock up. I have some stock car wheels and more mudslingers on the way that it will eventually ride on. I did a little work on the body with a lighter and some bondo. I'm going to do a little more work to see if I can straighten it out. If not I think I am going to go for a dented up trail beater.

This is how the rig sits as of now.

The chassis is up and running. Its fast with the stock motor so I will probably switch that out. The body work is about finished. I just need to do a little more sanding on the sunroof area. I put a coat of red oxide primer on it too look like rust when it gets scratched. The paint will be metallic blue with black details.

I got the body work finished and the first coats of paint sprayed.

I also got some bungee cords made to hold the spare down. So far so good.

I got the detail painting done on the body. I also bought a Nikko FJ Cruiser to get a body for my Leo-X. The tires from it look pretty good as spares. They were silver but I painted them black and did a little detailing.

I think I had the springs/shocks mixed up. I switched them and the ride height looks better to me now. Seems to sit more level. I also flipped my TLT post on the rear to adjust the body height a little. Now I just gotta add decals, bumpers, and a few other odds and ends and it will be finished.

Gonna be nice when it's done. I'd like to see your rear body post mounting. I'd like some height on my jero's rear.

It looks like you raised the ride height on it. What did you do to the suspension to accomplish this? Is it just longer shocks? I'm asking on behalf of my own Pajero which hasn't had a lot of run time lately due to my SW2 and AX10 are much mor fun, but now I'm looking at my Pajero and want to get it rolling again.

rkrawler the suspension is built stock. The mudslingers make it set a little higher and I suppose the body lift could make it look like its sitting a little higher.

I finally got it finished and got to go for a drive today. It performed really well.
The finished specs are:
Tamiya CC-01 Pajero with lots of bondo in the body
Futaba Tx/Rx
Cirrus Servo
Integy 35 Turn lathe motor with 16 tooth pinion
HPI Split 5 Spoke Wheels/RC4WD Muslinger Tires
Birdfeeder roof rack
Spares from a 1:18 Nikko FJ Cruiser
L.E.D.'s in lights
HPI Savage front bumper
Rustoleum Metallic Blue paint with Krylon Gloss Black Trim

To lift the body I put some plastic spacers under the front body mount and used TLT body mounts on the back instead of the stock ones. The stock ones drop down and the TLT's go straight out so that makes the rear sit higher. Then you just add longer screws and plastic spacers in the front until it sits level. I hope that helps.

I got some video edited of my first drive with the Pajero.

I have been tinkering with the ol' Pajero again lately. New additions include a CB antenna, Axial hub covers, belly pan, and front skid. It performs much better now.
