Took her out today because we had a bit of a "thaw". Still some snow but some mud too. I am sorry I haven't been updating this build but like most, I am tight on money this winter. These shots are from after today's mud bathing. I have added a straight rear axle since the last post and some other small mods, mostly exterior scale things. Here'e the pics.

This is the front end I changed around a little. Added a scale hook and cable to the parma winch and angled the bumpers up at the ends. Also added some D-rings.

This shot is of the rear straight axle and taillights, I also added a scale exhaust system. (you can see the tailpipe jutting out on the right)

Ok, so I found some parts from a 1:8 scale 1932 ford Revell model kit and must admit, they look good to me on this thing. I put all 4 beauty rings on the hummer wheels and the baby moons to the back only, because of the front hubs.

I just got the tranny mods done that I have been talking about forever. I will post pics soon I PROMISE! Gives the average highlift owner 1.25 inches of ground clearance without moving it up!! Also I flipped it three times today and was nervous every time, but she is STOUT!!! I flipped it once end over end and nothing, no damage. I flipped her also on both sides and the metal framed mirrors are still there, no damage so I say that styrene can be made to wisthstand abuse!

Those rings and baby moons are the shiznik!

Drill holes in the front moons for the hubs...

Was thinking of doing that!! I have a set of 4 more hubcaps so maybe I will see what they look like drilled out.

glad to see it put to good use! The styrene can be plenty strong. a friend is building an anatomically correct hilux and the cab roof can withstand a 20lb weight sitting on it without collapsing.

Been awhile but have been busy. Managed to finish that tranny mod I had been talking about. I modified the rear end plate and moved the gears to the side. This gives a little over an inch more of clearance.I took two rear covers and welded them together, made the rear cover out of two also. Didn't have to extend the axles and no binding. This thing crawls awesome now!! I don't get stuck on rocks anymore! What do you think??

And what's you point ???? ;-):lol: I got the truck today Jeff this thing is unfreaking real man your work is the best I have ever seen. Some of the best styrene guys don't hold a candle to your work.
All I did was pull the body and change the rx to a Specktrum rx and charge the battery. Thanks for leaving the speed control,battery, and servos in the truck. I will try to get some action shots tomorrow if I have time. Thank you Jeff for a one in a life time chance to pick up on truly amazing work of art.

Are you planing on making any changes to it? Axles, color, tires etc etc?

I want to put some RC4WD D60's and as for the paint I plan to do some weathering to the body.

Go for weathering, I never had the balls to do it but towards the end there the body started to get dinged up and looked better. That tranny gives tons of clearance for a highlift three speed.

Trying on some new shoes whatcha think ??

Old, however Troy/CAC make some killer utility wheels that would probably look pretty sweet on this. I have them on my FJ-45

This truck is my all time favorite. It is truly a work of art. I would be afraid to drive it and just leave it on the fireplace mantle for all to admire
