fuel tank...check. Today I made another cooler (in half the time, er 2.5 hrs) for my son's hilux...AND I made a fuel tank for the Montero. Didn't come out perfect but good enough for the undercarriage. Slowly chipping away at it. it will house the rx and esc |

I've seen people put electronics in tool boxes and fuel cells (truggys). That gave me the idea... Last edited by pantablo; 12-29-2008 at 11:11 AM. | |

thanks guys. did lots of little stuff, most dont photo well so here's a few highlights in addition to the hours and hours of filling and sanding I've done since the last update, lol... added MSD rear LOCKOUTS. very nice stuff. went on easily. slotted the gas tank to mount the on/off switch. did some test painting to check colors. Dont like the gunmetal at all. not grey enough. looks a bit blue/purple. Its tamiya gunmetal spray paint. I'll have to try Testors and if I can find it, ModelMaster gunmetal. Otherwise I might have to go with dark grey or glossy black. Wheel is just to check a silver wheel against the body colors. I also finished the door pillars on the driver side. More filling and sanding then adding the rain gutter then hitting the roof with primer to check it. |

Looking good there. Funny how the paint looks purplish. I've seen a few 1:1's that look like that though.

Yea the gunmetal isn't really gunmetal looking, like chino said, it's a metallic purplish colour.
