I am new here. I have been looking for a real rc project. This is by far the coolest build I think I have ever seen. Keep up the awesome work I can't wait to see the finished project. I wish I knew how to do this. |

Sorry for the long delay guys but getting ready for a new baby dose take up some time I did get some progress though. I few pages back i showed the top of the radiator support I was leery of how well it would work. I tested the grill and it seemed to fit pretty good But when i added the light bezels it was a different story Yah, the outer tabs i had, stuck out to far and was not going to work. also, i realized the inner tabs were too far apart and would not allow the grill to be attached the way i wanted so some modification was in order. I trimmed the outer tabs down and moved the inner ones closer together made a new piece And gave it a test fit Now that is much better. Not exactly like the real thing but close. To test a way to attach the grill i took the practice one i had and ground the back down. but i only ground certain parts leaving tabs on the back. These will eventually have screws through them and into the support. with the fitment taken care of i decided to make a final clean grill to make molds of. Unforninatly i had some slips in the process. I make a 3 piece grill i need to cast 2 then cut the center out of one and the bezels out of the other. The center started like this Then i trimmed it up and cut the bottom and the light bezels off leaving the center Cutting the bezels out of the other grill was a different story. I kept messing up them up. Eventually i did get 2 nice pieces and had a complete grill everything fits pretty good huh? but it was not without some some scrap One last thing i did was to make some door handles and emblems Pretty simple molds right off the body and cast some samples. Turned out really nice if i say so myself. I can't wait to put these on once it's painted. they should break really nice once they hit rocks That's it for now. more later. | |||||

This is by far the most awe inspiring, jaw dropping scale model build I've heard of or seen. I'm guessing you are married to Satan () just to be sure this will work. Upmost Kudos to anyone who can have the patience and extreme skill to make something so precise. |

I just wish that I hadn't found this thread til 2014 or so, just so I could have read straight through to the end of the build. These real-time updates are killing me. I spend more time reading about this truck than building my own. You'd think with all the projects I have in pieces I'd have better priorities. |

looks good man!!! absolutely amazing got any updates?? this and your "comp rig turned scale" builds is what inspired me to try this. i wish i had 1/4 of the skill and patience that you have for something like this.. mine definitely wont be this intense but will be similiar to your "comp rig turned scale" toyota build. will have the body and back of cab but no cab firewall in the front and no tailgate. started on my tube chassis today so will be making a build thread soon once i have enough progress thats worth posting. |
