I wish it was but i can't afford anything like that. I'm planning on just covering my motor with a styrene one. the drive train is already sorted out so that's not changing.

3 years, 179,080 views, and still one of the sickest builds on here.

Hope you get her done!

Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread bumped. I'm new here to RCC, but a friend has been telling me about this guy for years. Friends tend to exaggerate so I never appreciated how impressive this work is.

Have you ever considered having the body sections scanned and printed out using a 3D printer. There are companies out there that will print projects out. They used one on Mythbusters and it was super strong and it makes it down to the finest detail.
Good Luck on the new house.

Thats what I'm saying!!...this guy has some major time invested, which should, and could be returning at least some dividends for him and his growing family! Ive been out of the hobby/obsession for awhile, but I can almost gauruntee if he was doing this 10 years ago, he would have a dozen offers, and prolly a major one from Tamiya!

as i said...major dedication, and major props from here in WI....

I'm happy to see people are still interested in this build and that i was able to live up to the hype of friends

Yes it is costly to build the molds (time wise) Having support would be nice.

Actually i was making metal bodies 10 years ago, just not this detailed and there wasn't boards like this one for others to see them.

I have thought of rapid prototyping as a way of making molds and there is at least one person on here that has made a whole car from that process but it is very expensive and unless i was going into business making these (which is not out of the question) it's not worth the expense. I am a draftsman by trade and we hare getting a rapid prototype machine but even though i would have access to the means to make them i still don't have the time to model all the parts. for now i'll stick with the hand made molds.

I never thought i would be building something like this either. It just sort of happened

Thanks. I am really liking the new house, just not the work. I'm going to take my time and think things through with the new work shop. I want to me more organized and hopefully make it more enjoyable.

I know, I know but work on the house is taking longer that i had hoped. We ended up needing to replace the furnace and to keep cost down I'm doing the duct work myself. (it's a modular and the furnace was moved from upstairs hallway to the basement)

Please be patient, I hope to have some progress soon.

Please be patient. it will get some much needed attention later this year.

In due time but if you really need something to hold you over here it is looking sad and in pieces on the shelf.

Hey is there a brand new rc10 in that box? I know a random question

But great build. You do amazing work!!

This is a phenomenal build...nothing like it here! Curious though, why the pivot shackles to center of the chassis instead of front and rear? Not saying it's right, wrong or indifferent...just wondering if it provides any kind of advantage. Awesome build bro!
