Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread bumped. I'm new here to RCC, but a friend has been telling me about this guy for years. Friends tend to exaggerate so I never appreciated how impressive this work is.

Have you ever considered having the body sections scanned and printed out using a 3D printer. There are companies out there that will print projects out. They used one on Mythbusters and it was super strong and it makes it down to the finest detail. Good Luck on the new house. Last edited by onecool54@yahoo; 12-09-2011 at 08:01 PM. I have thought of rapid prototyping as a way of making molds and there is at least one person on here that has made a whole car from that process but it is very expensive and unless i was going into business making these (which is not out of the question) it's not worth the expense. I am a draftsman by trade and we hare getting a rapid prototype machine but even though i would have access to the means to make them i still don't have the time to model all the parts. for now i'll stick with the hand made molds. I settle on my house after Christmas so hopefully by the end of January i'll get back onto this and give everyone more pics to drool over

Thanks. I am really liking the new house, just not the work. I'm going to take my time and think things through with the new work shop. I want to me more organized and hopefully make it more enjoyable. I know, I know but work on the house is taking longer that i had hoped. We ended up needing to replace the furnace and to keep cost down I'm doing the duct work myself. (it's a modular and the furnace was moved from upstairs hallway to the basement) Please be patient, I hope to have some progress soon.

This is a phenomenal build...nothing like it here! Curious though, why the pivot shackles to center of the chassis instead of front and rear? Not saying it's right, wrong or indifferent...just wondering if it provides any kind of advantage. Awesome build bro! |
