Default Tamiya Hilux / 1:1 'Yota Build

I finally was able to order myself a Tamiya Hilux kit, should be here the 6th! I want to build it similar to my 1:1 build that I am already doing, I want it to be close but not perfect.

Here's my 1:1 '84 build so far, it's been a frame up build, it's sitting on 36" Super Swamer Radials.

That house looks just like a place I used to hang out at in Maine.

The pics were taken just before I moved out of CT.

dude your shackle angles look F'ed. see marlin or all pro.
of if money is tight do 63" chevy springs in the rear and a rear spring combo up front. atleast a locker in the rear and you got the start of something.
best of luck with your 1:1 and your 1:10

These pics were taken this spring, before I put the engine, transmission and transfer case(s) back in. That's why the shackle anlges are off, no weight. I also have'nt done the bed yet, I'm doing a flat bed / cage setup.

Some Specs on the Toy so far;

36"x12.50x15 Super Swamper Radial TSL
Skyjacker 5.5" leafs front & rear
Marlin Crawler shackles front & rear
TG u-bolt flips front & rear
Rear shocks relocated
TG crossover steering kit
Landcruiser front brakes
Sky rear disc brake kit
completely rebuilt front & rear axles w/5.29 gears
Detroit Locker rear, front open diff
Marlin dual transfer case adaptor
All Pro transfer case e-brake
completely rebuilt 22r
'86 5-speed

I'm hoping to have everything up and running in another month or so.

It has been a fun build, I started with 2 parts trucks and a frame from North Carolina. I started the build when I lived in CT., where there are plenty of rocks and trails to crawl on. I moved to Florida, no rocks there! Plenty of mud and sand though. I may have to do some rethinking on this build if I'm going to keep it and actually be able to use it in Florida, I may have to change it to more of a mud buggy.
