Default Toyota HDJ 80 series on the way

I just love this babies. Since I've owned a HDJ80 in the past, after beeing the proud owner of BJ40, I always wanted a "junior" HDJ80.

A HDJ80 bodyshell crossed my path and just had to grab it :-P

This is my old HDJ80 in some off-road action (8 years ago)

This is the bodyshell I just bought on-line. It's already painted in blue (I would like it in white, like my ex-car) but since this are a bite hard to find, I have to go with what I have.

The axels that are going into this car. Not very "scallish", but they will do the job.

Still haven't got any chassis to go with this bodyshell, but that's not a problem since I intend to build one to fit perfectly with this body shell.

This is the original idea.

The body shell just arrived today. It's even better when you see it in your hands rather then when you see it in a pict. Very nice detail.

Just placed it on top of SDI Trail Doctor XL tyres and it looks like this... kind of a Artic Truck HDJ80

I'm starting to consider to make a "small detour" from the original project because this just looks too good to my eyes

After beeing arround "in the oven", it's time to get this project up and running

This is just a quick "mok-up" just to get the overall idea of how it will look like.

Also need to get the axels "done" because this ones were borrowed from another car.

More to follow...

The absence of patience to do this build, made me choose the easiest way out. So I recicled a brand new TLT-1 (wich I have bought to my youngest kid) and used it to finish this car.

I'm going to leave the chassis for a different project (for the time being).

Still have to lower the car a little bite because the bodyshell looks a bite to high for my likings.

Not the most scalish car but I think it came out nicely.

Still need to connect all the electronics and figure out a way to secure the bodyshell without making holes. I've found out that this bodyshell is quite a rarity this days. Any ideas on how I can do this?
