| a bit about me: i got bit by the crawler/scaler bug a year ago, but i didn't know if i wanted to dump massive amounts of cash into a hobby i wasn't sure i'd stick around in. with that thought in mind, i built a pretty chill 2.2 scaler out of a wheely king and a ripper7racing hellcat chassis. it was fun, lots of fun, but the so-so performance of the wk quickly made me bore of the sport. i knew i wanted a 1.9 and the wk just wasn't gonna cut it with 1.9 wheels/tires. so fast forward a year, and pinchflat's k2-5 yota rig came up for sale. the gf knew i was itching for a new truck, and i didn't have the time to build something, so she bought me pinchflat's rig for christmas. let me say this, Matt does amazing work. i saw the pics on the build thread on rcc, and he emailed me some pics, but when i finally opened the box and held it in my hands, i was absolutely blown away. his attention to detail, the performance and everything about this truck is absolutely top notch. i had to run it inside for a few days because i felt that my heart would break if i rolled it on the rocks or anything. you know what they say though, after the first roll, it's all hell from there on out. so without further ado, i present, project tengu: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and some shots from a little session this morning ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() you can already see some rock rash and damage from my less than spectacular driving skills ![]() after the session, it was time to take some of the fun home specs are: k2-5 chassis, locked tlt axles, rc4wd rampage beadlocks with crazy krawlers (currently for sale), hitec 645mg servo, airtronics mx-3 radio, novak rooster crawler with novak 55t motor and legit bobbed mountaineer body. |
