Default K5 Trail Truck

This is an old Blazer I used to run 2.2's on. I just finished converting it to 1.9 using Integy wheels and SDI Trail Doctor XL's. I finished painting a new body for it yesterday. I got the body mounted today using body posts in the rear and a hinge in the front. I have yet to trim the fenders. It was built using an original Tamiya Hilux chassis, stampede transmission, narrowed TLT axles, and Highlift shocks. I still need to make a battery mount.

Forget the 2.2s it looks dead on with those 1.9s.

I was astounded with the performance of the 2.2's, the truck went anywhere, but it was long overdue for an overhaul, and I always wanted a 1.9 crawler.

Much better then a 2.2. Looks great and real scale now. My rig started out as a 2.2, but, I saw the light. lol

Just finished making and installing the battery tray. Perfect for stick packs and flat packs.

Here's some outdoor shots. I still haven't trimmed the fenders though. The navy blue didn't come out as dark as I had hoped it to.

Nice paint. I like the rear body mounts. Much less noticeable than on top.

Default Nice rig

I'd want to build an old Blazer at some stage.
Hunting for a tidy fullsize one at the moment, bit thin on the ground down these parts though.

just an idea to be even more scale, you could make some shackes to use as body clips for the rear.....your blazer looks trick...i love how those integy wheels look just like the factory wheels from the last blazers to roll off the assembly line...

Thanks for the great compliments everyone! Great idea about the shackles, but it would be too difficult to do that because the body pin holes are vertical. The body posts are almost permanently bolted down so I can't rotate them. I chose the wheels exactly because they were an option in the K5's.

I've been working on an interior for the past few days. All I need to do now is make the front seats and electronics tray. Everything is bolted down with mounts just like the 1:1's. The battery is a tight fit, but at least it's hidden.

Added windshield wipers

Default Mirrors

Hey Blazer - did you make those mirrors yourself? if so how bout a quick "how to" review. amazing how such small features like mirrors and wipers make such a big difference in appearance.
