Default el Chupacabra...the BP Bronco

My first try at a complete scale rig...this could be interesting :?

I've always wanted to do a scale build and with my new career I figured why not stick with that theme and go old school Border Patrol Bronco with a few mods here and there

Currently I am working on the axles which are RC4wd's T-Rex 60 axles in the plastic flavor (I'm a cheap bastard :-P). I wasn't to stoked about the link brackets that were supplied as far as realistic goes so I figured what the hay and built axle trusses and new link/shock mounts front and rear.

I also have a new mini atlas t-case from RC4wd and it is TITS Haven't decided for sure on what tranny I'm going with but might go with an axial if there is room under the hood. I was going to go stock with coils up front and leafs in the rear but I've decided to go with a modded bronco and am looking at the rc4wd scale coilovers. Once I get the body and frame to measure everything up I'll go from there.
For the frame I'm waiting for MSD to get some more of their new badass frames in. I was going to try building one but I don't have near the time/patience/or equipment to pull that off right now.

Hopefully some more parts will come in this week so I can start messing with it some more. I ordered probably 3x's as much styrene as I should need since I am pretty sure I'll be screw that up pretty good.

Got a few goodies in the mail.
Wheels and tires taken care of. Didn't think about it until I had them almost completely put together but I might take them apart to add some weights, we'll see. Foam might be too hard too, I'll just have to run it and see.
Also got the body cutout and sent the measurements to Xtreme RC for help with the decals.

Can't forget the coilovers

Drew up the front bumper. Might still make a small change once I find some lights for the bumper.
At a standstill now until I get the frame. I know the second I start on the bumpers or interior that I will have to redo it once I have the frame in my hands

Thanks, I wasn't thrilled with the mounts they came with and went a little crazy in the head. They will definitely outlast the axle housings.

Thanks, I was debating between an FJ-40 and a EB, figured I already have one FJ and I love the old EB's so why not

I got tired of looking at it and tried to make a little progress. I have the top portion of the front bumper done except for the winch mount. Will need to put the bottom hoop on once I have the frame to make sure it fits right. Also made some emergency lights out of the mini key chain mag lights and some red and blue transparent paint.

Thanks man. I was away for most of last year at the BP academy and am just now getting settled and trying to catch back up on all the sweet builds and new goodies that have come out. It's good to be back
Have both rigs torn down but they should be ready soon. Going to do a complete overhaul on the blackjack once this one is finished. Still need to find a good crawling spot out here. New to the area and so far the spots I've found are in slightly shady areas

Finally making progress. Still waiting on the frame but it's shipped and should be here any day now. Been having a lot of late nights at work but was able to get a little progress done today. First attempt at ever using styrene so lay off
Still need to go back and clean it up, but slowly progress is being made.
Also need to find a new sticker guy since I can't get in contact with the one who originally said he'd make all my decals :?

Wow at this rate I might take all year to get anything done :?
I've been working on it off and on between work and spending moola on a few other hobbies. Hoping to make a little more progress soon. Almost finished with all of the metal work and will be focusing on the styrene interior next.

Spent some time looking at a few EB cages and then put a few together to come up with that. I was trying to keep it simple and still offer full protection to the rear of the vehicle since it needs to be OSHA approved for the guberment :-P and still be "sporty" and "go fast" looking.

Pic of the rear bumper. Simple yet effective. I wanted to have a spare tire mounted on it but I don't feel like forking out more dough for a matching spare right now so if we get a flat we're just going to have to call for backup

And here is the newest hobby I've been playing with

Same here, I got this one about 2 or 3 months ago. I've only had it out to 150 yrds w/ open sights, just recently got the scope and other goodies this past week. Going out this week to sight it in and stretch it's legs a little bit.

Was going to work on the nerf bars this afternoon before work until I realized I'm out of brake line...again...dang it
