Default Mini 'Roxalot'

Hey guys, hows it going? :P

This is going to be my build thread for my new 1.9 project, a Mini Roxalot. Before I get into detail on the build I will show you guys exactly what Roxalot is. I've had the idea in the back of my head for a hilux flatbed for ages now, but I don't have the skills to build the tube work. So I had some things for sale a week or so ago and made a deal with NickRummy about building me a flatbed. He agreed.

This is the 1:1 Roxalot.

My plan is to replicate this truck. Everything from the halfdoors, to the paint. I am going to be building up the suspension my way. I've always wanted one of those bruiser hybrids, but lets face it. Being 15 and trying to afford that is tuff noodles. So here is what I have come up with so far. Axial axles on a limited run RCC 2008 Nationals chassis. Leafs up front, stock 3-link (soon to be 4-link). Driveshafts will be the MIP's I have laying around, as well as this R2. Motor will consist of a Holmes Hobbies 7t puller, powered by a Mamba Max and a 2s and 3s lipo. Shocks are rc4wd dualrates completely drained. They don't work to well with oil. Leafs are RC4WD's f-350 leaf springs. Not the red ones. These are 25% softer then stock, while the reds are 35%. I am going to be running Barto's Chassis 7-holes wheels, that are going to be wrapped with Prolines 1.9 Flatirons. Not much else I can think of right now, but I'll update this thread as I go with progress.

Here's the pics. Granted they probally suck, but I did not feel like takeing the truck downstairs. Sorry guys.

I just drilled out the center hole, you know, the one that is suposed to get the nut and bolt to hold the leafs together, and just screwed them to the 2 holes on the axles.

Yea man, the truck is sick. He's rebuilding it right now. He's going Dana 60's front and rear if I remember right. May be the time to pick up rc4wd's t-rex 60's.

Im trying. If the owner of Roxalot get's back to me, I plan to start the dash tomarrow. Want to find some recaro's for it, and I need to find a driver.

Im thinking a Scaleoffroad winch hook for it?

Already hacked the seat up. Once I get some cash in paypal Im gonna order up some recaro's. The 1:1's got buckets and I plan to replicate it. Im not to big of a fan on the bench seat anyway, but to each his own.
