Jeep Wrangler YJ.... I decided to do a build for the new wrangler body coming out. it will be a leaf sprung chassis and follow all the curves of the real chassis. the chassis is made out of 1/4" alum and has a c-channel as well. going to run a rc4wd tranfer case and use a axial tranny to power it. here are a couple of shots do far.... http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...er/jeep014.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...er/jeep004.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ler/wrang5.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ler/wrang1.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...rev2Model1.jpg |
looks great, as usual...is it going to be ready for march 1 gtg? |
i hope so. i have the body coming in the mail. |

few more shots... http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ler/wrang4.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ler/wrang9.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...er/wrang12.jpg i just need to find the right tire combo now |
Ah silver TLT's |
Looks good "thumbsup" |
thanks Corey"thumbsup" getting stuff ready for you |
the axles are for getting all the measurements right. i will use standard black ones later:) |
i say paint the tlt's black; that way when they get scratched the silver will show through just like it would on a 1:1 |
Looks really great so far. "thumbsup" |
What chassis is that? I've been wanting to do the same thing with my Jeep Wrangler for awhile. Thanks |
I'm dying to see how the body looks on it, and with those tires. Awesome frame! |
got the body in today. body fits nice on the chassis. just need to figure how high i want it to sit, and to find a good mounting place. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...r/HPIM1508.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../wrangler1.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../wrangler3.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../wrangler2.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2.../wrangler4.jpg |
Very nice, If i ever make a scaler it will be one of these but probably with some tubage."thumbsup" |
Sweet chassis! Very cool build. sits a bit high for my taste but it rocks anyway cus its a YJ!!! |
i brought it down a bit. i'm going to bring it down a bit more with some flatter arched delrin srings, http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...wrangler10.jpg |
Looks like a good start! Tires are very large. Mud thrashers look better"thumbsup" |
I'm new to this and I'm starting to plan a scale jeep build. I'm really curious where you guys are getting the bodies from? Ebay? I've seen a few of the tamyia jeeps but they are 400.00-500.00 is there another source? |
