Jeep Wrangler YJ....

I decided to do a build for the new wrangler body coming out.
it will be a leaf sprung chassis and follow all the curves of the real chassis.
the chassis is made out of 1/4" alum and has a c-channel as well. going to run a rc4wd tranfer case and use a axial tranny to power it.
here are a couple of shots do far....

ddiaz10240 02-12-2009 10:22 PM

the axles are for getting all the measurements right.
i will use standard black ones later:)

slither302 02-13-2009 05:15 AM

i say paint the tlt's black; that way when they get scratched the silver will show through just like it would on a 1:1

What chassis is that? I've been wanting to do the same thing with my Jeep Wrangler for awhile. Thanks

Thorsteenster 02-14-2009 04:29 PM

I'm dying to see how the body looks on it, and with those tires. Awesome frame!

ddiaz10240 02-14-2009 06:13 PM

got the body in today.

body fits nice on the chassis. just need to figure how high i want it to sit, and to find a good mounting place.

I'm new to this and I'm starting to plan a scale jeep build. I'm really curious where you guys are getting the bodies from? Ebay? I've seen a few of the tamyia jeeps but they are 400.00-500.00 is there another source?
