Default Hilux exocaged

Well i thought i should put some pics up of the work i did on my first scaler. I started with the shell and made a back panel. this was my first time using styrene.

I wasnt happy with the front arches so re did those

Then i went about designing a chassis. this is what i ended up with

Then came mounting the shell



it wasnt until this point when i hated how the front end looked and scrapped the exocage and just went with a caged rear

And this is where i am to date i have made some side rails but im not sure on the look and if there strong enough

Nice tube work, man!

If you use steel tube or solid rod for the rock sliders and braze them together they are pretty strong to hold up against some tough rocks.

well it got a bit beat up on its first test so i will be repairing and possibly redoing the full cage

yeah what happened to the full cage that thing looked good, try some solid rod on your rock sliders, and also any points that you may get alot of stress on.

The sliders are brass rod but up till know its all been soldered i have just got a Mapp gas torch and im just waiting on some aluminium to make my pipe bender then i will be trying again
