Wow, thanks buddy!

The flashpoints are a pretty soft but the 1.9 pitbulls are on their own playing field. The 1.9 pitbulls are the softest tire I have ever felt but can't run those on this rig, I use this yota as my CLASS ONE rig.

RC4WD came out with two new 1.9 Baja "MTZ" and "CLAW" tires, those tires are way softer then the flashpoint and are legal in CLASS ONE. All in all, I like the flashpoints, with the soft compound but not crazy soft compound, with the stock foams and they still keep good tire height. Hence they don't comprise too much, keeping your ground clearance still intact. Ground clearance is important to a least me in CLASS ONE, so the skid and pumpkins don't keep getting hung up on rocks or etc.

Also, if you haven't seen it already, check out the scale tire size chart I came up with.

Justin, my hat's off to you on this build. The more I look at it, the more I'm impressed. Despite all the time and money(!) I've got invested in the body of my 'Yota, I'm nonetheless considering building another body with a flatbed very similar to yours.

Did you build the bed with all solid bar stock? If so, it must be pretty darn heavy, huh? I'm curious if it hurt the overall performance compared to the plastic bed.

I'm still trying to figure out how you fit so much more under your cab than me! And I even have my servo winch mounted in the back under the bed. What interior are you running? I didn't see how you mounted the body. I assume it's Velcro'd into place?

Honestly, I think my only criticism is your tire choice. I know the Flashpoints work well, but your truck is so nice I think it deserves something more "scale-appropriate".

Seriously, keep up the good work!

BTW, this pic looks so real....

Wow, thanks Tommy! This is my current favorite rig of my to drive, love the C1 class!

I did build the bed mostly out of solid stock. It a bit more heavy then the stock bed but at least I have design the metal to be low as possible for good COG...I hope.

Hahaha....after learning how to stuff the guts in the chevy TTC truck, the F350, and the D90....I have some practice. I am running the OG Hilux interior. I mounted the body by putting a piece of delrin sticking off my sliders, and have a bolt on each side below the doors mounting the cab.

I agree, I was at Tammies Hobbies in Oregon this weekend and almost bought the new MTZs.
BTW, thanks for all the kind words. Good luck on you yota....as you can see....my yota has gone through many rebuilds.

Seriously, keep up the good work!

I was thinking about getting MTZ's but I like the tire high of the flashpoints. I have seen the MTZ's in person, there some what off a soft tire and comprese a bit more then the flash points(Dragging the belly a bit). Maybe when it gets nicer out I will pick up some of the MTZ's, when we have more WARCRC scale comps on mono-ish rock.

Thanks Dean!I some day want to do yota axles like you but for now...I like the under&overdrive gears in the axial axles.

Here is how I mount my body. I use delrin(yes, I will be trimming the extra off soon) and tap a 3mm hole in it to bolt the body on.

I also tap two holes on the bottom and mount the delrin to the slider.

Well, to help out in the scale points department with this truck, I ordered up two RC4WD Scale Plastic drivers. Per the scale point rules, these have knees....so I will get a total of -4pts with these two drivers wahooooo!

Here is a shot of the figure in the Dinky R/C repop hilux interior....I run the OG interior.

The pieces still mimic the Tamiya interlocking male/females pieces...making a good fit.

i'm liking the truck but i noticed in the one video that the rear looks like it slides around a little, or maybe its just the v treads not having much side to side traction, either way i like it, the tires set it off though!
