| >GADGE RC DESIGN< 1.9 Campbell Rock Racer w/3-link
Well folks, here it is,... the first one off the "assembly line" from GADGE RC DESIGN & FAB This first chassis is a semi scale racer that is going to be built up to an almost rolling chassis using AX-10 drivetrain, for RCC member Utieh. After several E-mails, pics and drawings came up with a design that he thinks is perfect, ...kinda like it myself too. Heres the specs/plan chassis.... 1/10th scale made from .156" round stock brazed with some artistic changes to sharpen its profile size.......chassis and wheelbase are both approx 11 3/4" ...295mm long x 5"...125mm wide x 4"...100mm tall at highest point track width 9"...230mm finish.......Powdercoated Dark Gray body.....Lexan panels painted black axles ...... AX-10 front and rear with straight rear axle trans........AX-10 with slipper clutch suspension..4-link in front and 3-link w/ panhard bar in the rear using Axial and Traxxas parts set up for 90mm shocks for racing ,with optional 110mm for some rock crawling tires/wheels.. (using mine for mock) his are much nicer ! electronics...(using mine for mock up) but this is going fast brushless/lipo So heres some pics of chassis (IN WORKS) |

The "tubes" are solid round .156"/4mm od Makes the chassis more scale in appearance, especially after powdercoating, 1:1's are made from 1.75" and p'coat only needs to add .020 to bring it to exact size Solid rod never kinks or dents, might bend but is easily straightened most times |

Yep thats panhard bar mount and this will be very close to axle at full compression, as shown there is only 2" ground clearance with 90mm shocks figuring a little static susp load The mount is on the right side of chassis, opposite from 1:1 so upper 3rd link can be tuned to balance torque twist The person I'm making it for wants to go fast, with a little crawling as an option with gearing change and longer shocks with some droop |

just a few quick pic's.......suspension/drivetrain layout everythings lookin good clearance and geometry even have room for electronics and trans/motor within the cab area and no ....not using the front upper 3rd link, it was handy all the links will be satin finish raw alum w/ traxxas ends and lower cross tube removed and a quick body panel mock up Last edited by gadge; 05-18-2009 at 12:35 PM. Well folks sorry for the delay but something happened that neither one of thought was going to, at least not anytime soon. The PERFECT scale axle was released by RC4WD Utieh and myself are waiting to see what provisions they come up with for mounting hoping that some way I'll be able to mount panhard and 3rd link, shocks and lowers also of coarse |

As soon as I saw the first post I was like "I Need to tell him about these new axles!" And you saw them anyway. A while ago I was about to post something about them needing to make a set of Spidertrax axles and then they came out with them! What would be even better is if they made the housing out of stainless steel so you could braze mounts and such on and look like these |

still no mounts that ive seen will be good enough...now they are talkin steel version, for like $200 each...Yikes !! thats 1:1 price IMO which is why im buildin little ones, like most of us and still got to fab n weld the mounts oh and dont forget need to powdercoat them then also...how much more is it gonna cost me ? by the time I'm done there gonna cost almost $300 each so RC4WD didnt see the "big" picture and machine a provision into them for mounting..........3 or 4 link in the aluminum axle servo mount ...forget that ....mounted right where the panhard mount..chassis end...is really shootin for this geometry and look which reminds me how fat the dif is in proportion to the axle diameter and widthcompared to 1:1 actually the angled pumpkin section is the middle which is prob gonna help w/4-linked upper mounts and still wonderinf if they will come out with a centeren version for the truggy guys that want centered rear and offset front diffs waitin to see still....... |

Ok folks this is back in works again/still the axles are on the way !! hope nlt Friday if usps is on time... and now this rig is going to be built quite a bit more like the 1:1 RC4WD Raptors are on the way !! so this rig can run 3-link front and rear and have the offset diffs and driveshafts..etc.... ..exactly the way Utieh wanted it from the get go !!!! |

This thing looks too awesome...... How did you bend your rod so cleanly? I want to build one of these but I am going to use a two speed trans, and I want to build my own chassis. I also have plans to use a set of lights from a losi desert truck too. I really like the scale stuff. I have built a few of my own so far. Next up will be this along with a 3 car wedge fifth wheel tri-axle trailer so that I can haul my crawerlers on my scaler to the comps. Kind of dorky but I think it will be sweet.

| The Real Deal
I looked up the real Moon Buggy today. That thing is awesome with the LS1. What I wouldnt give for one of those. But seriously what do you use to bend your rod? How much do you sell just your chassis for? Keep up the good work.

| What buggy has an LS1? I know alot of unlimiteds are running 4 cylinders like one of Cambell's old rigs with a supercharged 2.0L putting out like a butt load of torque. Though the promods i think usually hav v8s

I think the pro stock landcruiser is dumb. The ls1 unlimited is pretty cool but I bet it's heavier than normal. I like his new pro modified which has a thread on pirate4x4, it runs a rotary engine or something.
