Will be a nice build when finished! Is the body gonna be weathered?

ROLANDROCKSHOP 06-09-2009 04:03 PM

im still trying to figure that part out, when my pop got rid of it,
it had a big rusty hole in the sides of the bed.

i would like to make it look like a new truck, but have
the rusty spot there for when it gets "beat up"
to come thru.??
anyone have any suggestions??

LorenzoZ 06-11-2009 12:17 PM

very nice truck .. and i think thats a .. kind of easy build with all the things rc4wd has to offer

you will need ;

wagon scale wheels http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=449

Dirt grabber tires http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=583

tamiya blue paint ( blue mica, telefonica blue or semi gloss .. whatever u like of those 3
TS-79
ts-51
ts-50 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRS45&P=7

but i think its the mica blue with that rust primer its gona get just a bit bit darker and it will match the color is my guess.

anyway very very nice truck !!

ohh and looks like you gonna need a western bumpers http://www.shop.rpphobby.com/product...productId=1257

and you are almost done .. just need a nice interior and thats all

i would like to made that nice truck but ... the last hilux i bought it never arrived. oh well

anyway nice build

ohh and please .. put a clear glass .. dont use the dark glass of hilux

ROLANDROCKSHOP 06-11-2009 02:35 PM

went with tamiya blue angel blue.
a bit lighter but still looks good.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...a/DSCN5953.jpg

got my alum knuckles and c's ,and lateral braces
in. be putin them on tonite and mounting body.
and then out the shop to build sliders and front bumper.
more pics to come.

and yes its an fairly easy build.
nothing fancy just stuff that works.:)

Tuffguy 06-11-2009 03:49 PM

Screw the 1/10th scale rig, I want the 1:1! That thing would be worth a mint now!
Eh, still I think you will do it justice, though.
Kevin

ROLANDROCKSHOP 06-11-2009 04:09 PM

thanks kevin!

that old yota went thru some stuff!!
and pulled a bunch of people out!!
i can still hear the ball bearings in the steering wheel
as me and my dad rushed from our house down to deer camp
to get on our stands before daylight,on those old loggin roads!!
!!yeehaww!!
while ol hank jr is a singin thru the 8 track!!

LorenzoZ 06-11-2009 06:55 PM
