Default drive shaft help please

does anyone know of a good alternative shaft for a hi lift axle and a peed trany .. i cant have anything special orderd because i wont be in town long .. so preferably something i can get at the local hobby shop.. i dont know the dementions of the shaft but i can tell you that is slightly shorter than a 2.5 t maxx shaft .. and a bit longer than a rustler shaft ... much help would be apriciated since i cant drive myself to the hobby shop to see what would work

Not much more expensive than the traxxas shafts with metal yokes (and you'll never "pop" a shaft). Although, with the traxxas it is easy to cut and modify the length of the shaft.

ahh thanks ... im not havin trouble with the shafts poping and i have the maxx ones cut and fitted i just cant seem to get the set scew tight enoph and it slips off after a few min. of driving ... is there a good chance these will be at the local shop?

I'm in CT - but I would imagine most shops carry them. They are a direct replacement for an Scorpion (i think). Nothing a phone call can't answer

With max shafts, I drill a through hole in the pinion shaft and use the standard long shank set screws that go through the hole.
Can make the joint a little wobbly if the hole is too large.
Start small and you can always enlarge if it necessary.

no dont do that, get some traxxas pede shafts. alum yokes with them. yhey are a direct fit for your tranny, snince thats what truck its from. but you may have to grind the nipple off the axel sides, i dont remember from my highlift if i had to or not.

Pretty sure the pinion is long enough on a high lift so you don't have to gring the "nipple" off the traxxas metal yoke.
