Moving on I cut out the rear lights

Using a the same buckets from the front, I heated them up a bit and pinched one end to make the slight teardrop shape of the Humvee rear lights. Mounted the bucket in the same fashion as the front.

Rear shocks adjusted

Front shock mounts raised a bit

Since I added headlights and there were other lights I decided to ream out

the front aux light to light them up as well.

Out side front aux lights (solid no use)

Pilot drill

Flattened out some styrene (with heat) shaped it to the bottom cover like

the solid lights (see pics above) and glued it into place.

I have some orange lenses that I have cut to size to glue on after paint.

(pics to come)

Looks good. I have a H1 Wagon body here, something like this:

but it's a Fire Chief's one, so it has a lightbar on top (that works) and head lights and tail lights (that also work), it also has sounds that go with it too lol.

I want to do 4 wheel independant suspension on it.

Sweet, I work on Air Force HMMWV's every day, I have always wantedto build one with solid axles and an engine that doesnt suck (Cummins). Sure it would take away ground clearance, but then the suspension might actually articulate when going over obstacles.. Nicely done man, cant wait to see more!

How is the quality of the chassis? I really want to use one for a defender 90 build, but I haven't seen the chassis in person (and probably never will) so it's hard to spend the $$ and hope for the best.

Yep, seen it. it's a beautiful build for sure for a stock chassis. My build was no way created in regards to it.

I had the chassis and placed multiple shells on it and the humvee was a instant must do. It is more of a scale crawler than his (If I did as much work as him on the body trails would be the most it would see)

Mine will be for rocks and trail and will feature onboard video.

The RCCA article did not do much explaining on the build process, due to limited space in the magazine I'm sure.

This is my way to do the body and I used all Tamiya parts for the body.

Thanks for the info on the article, I had not looked at it in sometime, it was good to refresh such a sweet build.

Thanks, The box is a old Receiver box, I believe a KO Propo box. I always keep stuff like that, you never know when it will come in handy. The plastic is a bit brittle, but I will use it til I lose it, then find something different.

Project boxes from radio shack work great

I'll definately be keeping an eye on this build, I have one ofthese bodies floating around the hobby room but I've never been sure what to do to it
