Second Chance Dove-nose Yota 27 Attachment(s) Got this as a roller from Going Up!, SuperBoy did the cage right. I tore it all the way down. Re-worked the suspension and repainted everything. The cage is super tough and looks good too. Added Tekin Fx-R esc, with 11.1v lipo, CC BEC, Hitec 5955tg servo, Tekin HW 35t on 18t pinion Reign K2-3L Chassis with droop on 100mm shocks with 5mm limiter soft springs Reign back cab Axial axles/trans, alum knuckles, Axial CVD's, 4 link front and rear. Show only Pro-line winch (get a real one some day) RC4WD steel wheels and RC4WD 1.9 Rox LoxThese tires look good and work even better. Made an aluminum electronic plate up front (my fabbing skills are limited) for some water shielding and put all most of the electronics in a servo box. And a rear plate to clean it up a bit. Losi drifter headlight/tail light kit. This truck crawls great. The narrowed front end really helps with those approaches. Still messing with the shock setup. It needs touch more flex. MIP drivelines are in the mail. Still debating on what to do with the rear and side windows. Probably leave the front open. On to some pictures, first assembled truck pictures are when it was mocked up. Final paint pictures of truck towards bottom. Some are blurry, sun was setting. |

Probably do a window set for now. I think the front needs to be open cause the front bars, to keep it scale, so an interior might be the route. I'll get both."thumbsup" |
It looks like a fun rig 8) |
Just 2 pictures 2 Attachment(s) Couple pictures at the comp in Disney, OK. Just messing around the courses. This truck will climb . Just put some RC4WD shocks (droop) on the rear, last night. Other two are back ordered. |
it looks good Shane! FYI I tried some cut down 2.2 memory foams in my front rok loxs and so far so good. There is a little tire roll but they seem to grab a little better. Let me know what you think if you try them out! |
Cool. I have alot of my weight up front on the chassis. No weights on wheels with stock foams and air holes in tires.. If it wont climb up something, all i have to do is turn the wheels slightly one way and the sides bite good getting me up. The front really pulls the rear on steep climbs. I like the stock foams for now, with the weight I'm at. I'll check them out this weekend if we dont get rained out. This rig was climbing some crazy stuff at Disney but that rock is good too. In the second picture, the yota made it up that climb easy. |
Looks awesome. I keep readin stories bout people pickin up other's projects from on here and either finishin them up or puttin them back on the trail. What an awesome community, recycling at its finest!!! Matt |
I'd like to actually see the full dove nosed look, narrowed grille and angled fenders. But hey this thing is in far better shape and design than my build/ I can't even post pictures of it yet. That bad. |

I think it looks good (not too narrow) and gets the fenders out of the way of the tires just enough. Going Up! did a good job of making it look good. |
I had so much fun yesterday. I can't wait for the next gtg where we can get our scale on. Your rig was looking good "thumbsup" http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...e214Medium.jpg http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...e216Medium.jpg http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...e217Medium.jpg http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...e218Medium.jpg http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...e221Medium.jpg http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/q...67Medium-1.jpg |
6 Attachment(s) Thanks Ashton for the pictures. I was just compiling them to post up here. You did half my work! The truck looks great. Got a ton of complements. It's kinda top heavy. I might have to think on reworking the rear part of the cage to move some of the weight down. It crawls great as long as I don't have to do any sidehilling. Here are a couple more from House Fly. |
this rig turned out awesome |
Rig is nice. I like the way the cage follows the bodylines. |
really sick truck, looked like a blast to drive. |
