Default PFB's Chopped Yota

Got all moved into my new place and got a MIG welder finally so here's my first attempt. It's all 3/16 solid rod. Had an SCX10 truck I built so I decided to convert that over. Not only did I want to try my hand at welding a tube bed up, but I wanted to make the SCX10 as capable as possible so my Dad and Brother (New to RC crawling) would be able to make difficult lines without getting discouraged while they were driving it.

Onto the build: (I've been working on it for a little while but forgot to post it here)

Gluing Reign's cab back using my newly acquired Cleco clamps

Then I glued the sides in and clamped them

I coated all the seems with shoe goo on the inside after the initial CA glue was cured.

I cut the end of the chassis off. Departure galore! Then I welded up the upright frame of the cage and the shock towers. (I doubt if I'll ever braze again haha)

Trying to get the body in the right spot. I want it low but have to keep in mind the clearance needed for the 1.9 Rok Lox.

Main rollbar sticks out just enough to protect the body's sides and top. Got the Hand Bros. C.M.S. Kit installed. What a nice kit!

Cage all tacked together. Just gotta finish welding and get the sliders done.

Front bumper was one Fletch built for me that was already on the frame. Got that modified for this body, mounted, and painted. Finished the sliders and painted all the tube work.

Still waiting on shocks and tires but this will be the ride height. Had to chop the fenders for the huge tire clearance.

Got some welds to clean up then I'll repaint.

Not sure what color the body will be. Maybe a flat red or tan. I'll probably cut the doors for half doors. Need to make some fender wells and a firewall of some sort. Might do a bolt in interior cage too. Not really sure how crazy I'll get with the interior yet.

Yep, thought a propane tank would look cool for this.

The 1.55s actually stretch over the 1.9 wheels pretty well. If I didn't have a planned build for the slingers, they would stay on here.

It isn't yet. I'm working on it right now though.

Here's the start of the propane tank.
