I forgot to post up here, well the SWAT truck is allmost finished, before build V2 starts Thanx very much guys, I really appreciate it Got some more work done on the bumper. Getting colser to finish this one, but I have to fill some spots first, sand and the make the bull bar. This is how it looks when Caprinut is working with styrene and dremel Getting there.. The backside is dremled out to make space for the front xmember and the wheels. It's real PITA to take pictures of a styrene item with many angles on in bad ligthning condisions. It beginning to look something now Gonna paint up my shocks as I have no money at all rigth now.. I have also started on my rescue ligth bar I have worked hard on this the few last days... Started on the basic shape of the ladder rack.. Got some more done, not exactly how I wanted it bud I had a little misshap with some heat Body soon ready for some paint I couldn't wait to get the rock rings on the wheels to see how it looked, paint wasn't dry yet so I got some paint on the tire, but that is taken care of now.. #Chassis is painted and drying this moment. #Axles is also painted. #Rock rings and rock sliders are painted in white. #Made new 4 links and steering linkage. #Filled the bumper with melted styrene instead of filler. Have to wait to the melted styrene is stiff enough to sand. Hope I will be ready for the norcc deadline wich is this Sunday evening norwegian time. And it have to be running. Painting is a bit pita as there is almost 2 foot of snow outside with a temp of 1-2 C' daytime. Painted the chassis outside in the the driveway today, all the other bits are painted in my rc room (former spare bedroom). My new front shocks are arriving tomorrow so I hope to asemble the chassis tomorrow and paint the body. Have to finish the front bumper also.. Updates again I was able to be finish (for now, that is) tonight for the Norcc comp build with 4 hours to spare.. Haden't enough time to make the tool boxes, so they will be made a bit later, but I have more plans for it, like, clear vindows, interior etc.. Here are a few pics from tonigth. A short test video of it in the snow: http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/sho...190#post605190 http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/sho...654#post606654 Time for a small I have overhauled the Pede box, so now it has new gearbox halves, all new plastic gearset, incl new spur, spur adapter, spur axle and pinion. I have also mounted up the RC4WD Bruiser shacle kit, to get rid of the high lifting block from Diaz. Looked like this before.. I wanted to get rid of the lifting blocks, to reduce the risk of axle wrap. I had to use the short lifting blocks from the HL kit to get clear of the rear steer lockout rods. I don't know if there was because of my skill or pure luck, but the rebuild got spot on with the long leaf posts, shortest HL lift blocks and the Bruiser shackles. With the old set up the rear axle was 1-2mm too far back, so under flex the tire would rub in the rear part of the wheel arch. But it is spot on now Higth with the new set up. The tires are mounted sligthly forward of the center of wheel arch, due the leafs swing a bit under flexin'. Spot on Flex/tuck in Have to touch up the frame with some paint in a few days.. Had to make new mounts for the rear shocks, the did just clear with the old set up, but with the new they got stuck. Just used some spare HL leaf hangers.. Will make some others later on.. The most forward leaf hanger just clears the rock slider with a half mm to spare And a new video is up and runing in the video section.. Part one and two actually... http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/sho...052#post614052 I have now made some police strobe lights behind the grill http://vimeo.com/10610568 And yes I will fit some HL lock outs later down the line... And some videos for those who hasn't seen these yet... http://vimeo.com/10354149 This Monday I did my first scale comp with this rig. And the comp went great for me, Swat on 5th place, my Pajero 1st place and my Project BugNut 8th place. The SWAT Ford did much better then I had hope for before the comp. Some pics from my SWAT run, pics thaken by member BentKa over @ Norcc. |

That build turned out great man. The stance of the truck is very scale, looking. Not too, big not too small and really looks like a 1:1 utility use truck.

Nice build, man. I think I just figured out the next body I have to get my hands on. Reading through your build thread, I thought of an idea for your body mounts in the bed. You could run button head screws down through the bed to the chassis which will look like the button heads that are used on 1:1's. Again awesome rig. |
