Default Mud Speed Truck

I am thinking of ordering the new SCX10 Honcho kit and using an XL-5 with a Traxxas 2075 waterproof servo with either a 15T or 12T motor for speed.

This will be nothing more than just a fast truck which I plan on mounting 1.9" mudslingers to without any weights.

Will this servo hold up if I decided to use 2.2 mudslingers? Also what spur/pinion should I go with to not overheat the ESC or motor?

id say a 27-30t motor with stock gearing does pretty good in the mud if yea up the voltage with a 3s lipo or 7 cell+ nimh

but the traxxas stuff works pretty good for mud runners

you'll definitely want to run the nimh batts, since the XL-5 is rated at only 9.6volts it can't handle a 3s lipo plus last time i checked no one made a lipo cut off for it. only a warning light. and i would hate to trust using a light to keep from over discharging a battery. torque on th 2075 at 125oz should be plenty but it is digital so i think it has to be used with a tx/rx combo that is compatible.
