| **One more Yota Truggy!** Been collecting parts for this for a while now, and finally got started. First hard body crawler. Haven't messed with styrene since I was 20 or so. So should be fun! Based on a Hilux cab and a SCX10 chassis. Got a lot of the tube work done this week, still need to do the bumper and finish some of the welds, but far enough to post pics! SPECS: - Yota Cab (thanks Rodney!!) - O.G. interior (thanks Tim!!) - RC4WD clear windows (when they get them) - SCX10 Chassis - Axial axles - MIP drive shafts - SCX trans - Sidewinder & 45T - Ko ProPo steering servo - Rok Lox - RC4WD steel wheels (next order) - 3Racing Winch - R2j "Truss ed" four link & 5/16" Delrin links That should be a good start at least. On to the pics............ |

Thanks Ty! It's stock right now.....but heading to the work room to throw some Jato ends on one end.....adds about 3/8". So should come out about 11-3/4" or 7/8". Want the length for the drive shaft, it is really close to bottoming out. Plus move the tire further back from the cage.

| Thanks Tim! Once the panels are on it will look more like a flat bed. Thanks for the offer but I went ahead and ordered one anyway. I'll just have to wait. |

MIG or TIG? If using TIG what size tungsten are you using? 1/16? Nice bends above tires,I like that! |

| Well, got few things done over the weekend I mostly worked on the body, meaning stripping the old paint off. Man did that suck! Looked like three layers. Used some of that Cirtristrip orange paint stripper, it did say could harm some plastics, but done a spot under the body first to make sure it would work. It did a pretty good job, but I'm the most inpatient person ever, so it seemed like it took forever to get it where it's at now. While waiting for the stripper to do it's job, I fabbed up a 1/8" Delrin plate for the lipo and the electronics box. I used a 2" x 4" project box from the shack and turned it sideways across the chassis so it would clear the interior. I didn't have room for the winch controller, so I narrowed a 2" x 3" box to fit between the rear tube work. It will also house the light control as well. Got a few things in the mail today! Thanks RPP, ordered Friday morning and got the package today! Ordered my OEM stamped steels in the natural finish so that I could paint them myself, saved a few bucks and also they will scratch easier to look more realistic. Well enough chit chat, on to the pics! |

Ahhh, the 2.2, got the body yesterday, but can't decide if I want to use an SCX frame or just build one for the "Meanie". Oops! Cats out the bag! | |
