Default your opinions on my build

well I'll let you guys in on the setup I have in mind and get your opinions good or bad thanks
first it's all going in either a trail finder kit http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...oducts_id=1043 it's $299.
or the honcho kit http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/scx10-kit-v2/ its $270. which one has more capability and strength and how the part support on the trail finder?

next the esc traxxas waterproof xl5 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVSJ4&P=ML $54.99 how the drag break on that and the low end control?

the motor integy 35t http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLYV2&P=7 $21.99

the receiver http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYYC7&P=7

and i'm going to use a traxxas waterproof receiver box

and I use a 7 cell 3000mah nimh

well give me your opinions i'm really down to choosing the truck and the differences between them

Honcho will yield more and better parts availability and the Axial kits are proven performers. RC4WD products are nothing to sneeze at, but I think you'll dig the Honcho.

There is no drag or instant reverse on the XL-5...low end isn't bad.

the motor integy 35t http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLYV2&P=7 $21.99

35T is a great wind for a scaler and the Integy's are a solid choice for the money.

the receiver http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYYC7&P=7

Micro Rx's are killer for crawlers...you can tuck them anywhere.

All in all a good set up if you know you're going to get the rig wet. We have many drivers in our club running Traxxas waterproof gear.

If you're looking for all out control and more crawling specific performance though, I'd look into a different ESC...perhaps the Holmes Hobbies Torque Master BR. A bit more cabbage but worth it in my opinion, and can be ordered waterproof

Have fun!

Default ive heard some good stuff about holmes waterproof

will the holmes hobby waterproof hook up the same as the xl5 would will it work with my 2.4 traxxas receiver and remote will it run good on the nimh
do you think I would get more run time out of the holmes hobby or the xl5 battery wise.
thanks for you opinions

You'll need to install your own battery connector and motor leads, and there is no ON/OFF switch; when you plug in your pack it's live.

Yup.

It'll be fine, and you'll be ready for Lipo if you ever go that route.

It's possible...seems to be a very smooth and efficient ESC, which in theory will allow you to become a smooth and efficient driver

thanks for you opinions

That's because there is no drag brake my man

It's full on and that's why you're flipping.
