Default Dorkstar Productions #1: Race Bronco

Hello!

Over the next few months I'll be building a few 1.9" Scale trucks which will be available for sale. Only one of each style will be produced, and each one will be unique. They will be inspired by King of the Hammers, and may include different setups/accessories depending on what the look dictates.

The truck will be built up as a roller with a painted chassis but clear body, and it will be sold as a CHASSIS/BODY only! Essentially, I'll be unbolting the axles, tranny and links, and you'll be able to re-assemble the chassis using your favorite tranny/axle/link combo. The foundation for the build is a RTR Honcho. This method allows me to retain my initial infrastructure investment (axles/tranny/links) expediting the build process, therefore letting me build more chassis overall.

UPDATE: It's currently on EBAY! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_562wt_1166

CHASSIS #1: Race Bronco

Stay tuned for build pics!

Thanks,
Dorkstar Productions

Hey Ryan, will you be posting this up on ORCRC also? or do I need to keep watch here. I was just thinking about building a KOH type truck so I'm very interested in what you come up with.

I'll post on the ORCRC board too.

Every chassis will be a one of a kind, and I'm hoping to crank out a few...

Alrighty, we're off and running!

Here's what we're starting with:

Proline's NEW Bronco CGR, minus cage.

We're going for simple but sexy with attention paid to approach angle, CG, and clearance.

The Axial Honcho RTR base:

Planning the fenders:

Chassis prepped for welding, first tube cut:

BZZZZZZZZZZ!

That's 5 hours of work, and all done for today! More tomorrow.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks people! I'd also like to note that the Full-bodied Bronco will fit too, as might the other CGR bodies...

XJ is leading the running for chassis #2...

Haven't decided how to sell them yet... Almost seems like an auction would be appropriate?

Put 2 hours into the bumper this morning:

I also began the cage mount. The whole upper cage will bolt to the lower supports for easy removal.

Cage work begins tomorrow!

Ryan
