my first scale attempt well it started as a ax10rtc i up graded the links and steering http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN0894.jpg didnt take long before it just wasnt as fun as i planned so i started thinking what to do to make it faster started changing the gearing its now at a 21/81 combo but still not fast enough! i bought a xtrail and some rc4wd 90 mm coilovers http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...AwNjEuanBn.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...AwNTYuanBn.jpg i got some 1.9 axial take offs! tossed them on and bought a honcho skid plate today to get some triangulation http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN0982.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN0979.jpg every couple of weeks i try to buy another piece to the puzzel shooting to turn this into a jeep xj to copy my old 90 cherokee http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...p/IMG_0002.jpg |
well the scale shocks were sticking alot so there on the back burner i got some axial resivor shocks off ebay on friday they arrived today "thumbsup" totally stoked took it for a quick test on a trail next to my house! http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...AyMDAuanBn.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/IMAG0201.jpg and got a new remote made a huge difference in the turning radius love the new remote! team associated xp3-ss! hoping to get a new lid in the next couple weeks a cherokee and toss a light bar on the roof using the 3rd channel to turn them on and off! |
Looks good man!"thumbsup" |
Def looks more scale than before! |
took the truck out today and hit 3 parks on my way home from work! had to test the new servo (hs 645mg) what a great up grade! found a guy to build my light bar so soon it wil be body light bar leds and bumpers to build.... might make it a bit faster though... the 55turn isnt fast enough! http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1015.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1010.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1009.jpg |
after looking at my pictures from my excursions yesterday i decided the body was way to high! so i moved the battery a bit back so i could lower the body i lowered the body so at full flex the tires almost rub the front then lowered the rear the same amount. ended up being over 1/2 inch. after lowering it the rear rubs terribly at the rear of the wheel well i need to shorten the axial links ide prefer straight links in the rear rather than the bent ones but cant afford anything really right now. i love the new look trimmed the bed a little as well to get a more pre-runner look. and removed a bunch of stickers that were on the body. oh ya pictures! http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1020.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1019.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1017.jpg whats everyone think? |
well today i went and tested the new battery location and lower body! did real good! need to make bumpers and sliders or this body wont last much longer. still need to shorten the front and rear links a little. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1023.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1024.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1025.jpg |
trimmed about a 1/4" off the rear links got the wheel base to 11.8 shes that much closer to getting that Cherokee body! and a picture to show how it sits in the fender well now! http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/DSCN1026.jpg |
Its getting there!!"thumbsup" |
