Default Project "True Scale" Suzuki Samurai

Hey Guys, Its been a while since I've built a new rig, and I've had this vision thats been burning ideas into my head for about 2 years now, so here goes nothing..!!

Since building my 1.55" MRC "Slickrock Samurai", I have wanted to do another sammy build, but on a much different level. Seeing ALL the Awesome talent on this board with people scratch building some INSANE bodys got me thinking I wanted to take a stab at it.

So... After finding what seemed like thousands of Sammy images online and in catalogs, I started measuring, and sketching out a few rough drawings on paper until I came up with one I really liked, and then I kept measuring, correcting and drawing AGAIN until I had the correct "scale" that I was 100% happy with..

Then I carefully cut out the rough shape and sanded the edges down smooth.

I think you get the general idea...

Because of ALL the time its going to take to make mostly everything for this build from scratch , I have NO timeline for when it will be done, hopefully it turns out worth the trouble..! Stay tuned.. I'm in it for the "long-haul" with this one..

Now we are talking!!! I am seeing a huge "Clampy" style build thread except with a Sammy!!! Take your time brother.

BTW when you get to the grill, just build two LOL. Paypal ready or let me know if you need any parts in trade.

Thanks Guys - I'm glad everybody seems as stoked about this one as me..!!

As far as axles, tranny, etc.. I honestly haven't made my mind up quite yet - although I DO have one main front runner for the axles and they will work PERFECT for this project - time ( and money) will tell if I can use them.. But I can say for sure that this one will have a transfer case setup, so it will have a FULL interior..

Oh and one other thing - I never really mentioned what "scale" /size this project was going to be....

Here it is next to a regular lexan "Speedway Pal" Sammy body.....

( Its got a 10-3/4" wb) NOW you can let your imaginations run wild..!!

Awesome! Exciting to see zuks represented here. How about doing a tin top though? They're less common than soft tops.
