1.9 Chevy tuber, Trail beast! Hey guys, figured I'd post some pics of my current trail truck. Its not done yet but I'm driving it while building it. Axial trail Chassis with hangers welded on(it was rear leaf springs and front coils but I FLEW through leafs, one trail session and they would be flat, twisted, and sagged hard) Built tlt axles with cvds, hard gears, sealed bearings, steel axle c's, alum hubs, etc etc. Custom links with proline trail shocks. Axial trans with traxxas hardened outputs and stampede driveshafts Custom motor creation using some holmes hobbies motor spares and a jp customs armature. Rooster Crawler on 3s lipo and a tactic 2.4ghz radio Custom 4 link truss up front, My own version of a handbros servo on chassis setup. Using a traxxas waterproof servo. RC4wd 1.9 tires and rims The body is a Tamiya Clod body. I made a drop bed, dove tailed it, and narrowed the front aswell. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/008-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/010-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g314/protour/020.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g314/protour/021.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g314/protour/027.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g314/protour/029.jpg A new place we found local to us. Might get some more pics from todays trail run. -Matt |
I was impressed with this truck Matt. Pretty simple, straightforward build but it works really well. Pretty tough too, I can't believe you haven't cracked that body yet! Your experience with the leaf springs has convinced me to rethink running them on my 1.9 build... |
Nice setup. I like the body, it really sets it apart from the crowd. |
I like it alot man. Good job "thumbsup" I was gonna do something like that. Reminds me of this 1:1 http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...531024x768.jpg |

yea leafs are not for me, First I mangled rc4wd soft leafs, then those heavy duty ones I bought off of you. Honestly I got 1 pack out of each set of leafs. bought an hour and half of run time. |
I decided to change the truck up a little bit, really wanted a truggy style deal. It is far from done but I need to get it driveable for our next trail session next weekend!!! http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/011-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/017-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/018-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/019-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/020-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/021-1.jpg |
I always love bowtie bobbed rigs! Looks good! |
This truck is TANK!"thumbsup" |
Im diggin' it bro "thumbsup" the tubework so far is lookin good! |
not bad.... so what are the plans for the future?? full exo, winch, etc??? |
sooooo change of plans hahah. My friend decided to tackle the task of doing a brakeline tuber so I joined on the fun. Here is what I have so far. I have always wanted something that would take a ton of abuse(roll it down the side of a very large hill and drive away from it with no broken parts haha). http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/020-3.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/021-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/022-1.jpg cleaned up the mounts to the chassis and existing pieces http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/024-2.jpg ended the day like this http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/025-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/026-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/023-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/027-1.jpg and the wheel/tire combo I will be running. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/028-1.jpg |
Awsome!! This truck is sweet! Good tube work"thumbsup". And can you tell me what size tube you are using? |
this truck is sick great work on the tube also |
thanks guys!! pictures are just uploading now of tonights progress. Not a whole lot but some. I'm off to work then night class until friday so I wont make any progress until the weekend. |
I added a couple diagonals for off the rear hoop to the floor, then I also started on the rear end of the chassis. I like the idea/design so far so I think I am going to roll with it :) http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/002-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/009-2.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...tour/006-1.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g314/protour/007.jpg |
Nice build, something different!"thumbsup" |

Ha! Now you have to do an interior Matt :D! The tubework looks good. This truck was already tough, it'll be invincible with the tubework now. |
