So... This is now where I'm at with this build. Posts from her on will be current progress. I have done the front and rear light buckets as well as the lenses for the lights. I had a RC4Wd Scale Light Kit, but do not like it, so going a different route.

Lot's of stuff still to due, so stay tuned.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
-Steven

I finished up the headlight and tail light lenses. They turned out ok... Not great, but not horrible either. I sprayed some matte clear inside the headlights to kind of fog them a bit.

Here's some pics:

I also installed (temporarily) the RC4WD Scale Lighting Kit. I did not glue into the light buckets yet but did some light spot gluing to keep the wires from flopping around.

I ordered a new kit from Bill at Bill's Custom RC Lighting. The new kit will be powered by a 9v velcroed under the hood of the body and an on/off switch on the roof of the body at the Driver's side window. So the body can be completely removed without having to unplug wires as well as the fact that I will not have to worry about waterproofing. One more thing is that I plan to make a beater body and this will also make swapping bodies much easier too. Besides, I really do not care about turn signals while I'm negotiating rocks on the trail.

Thanks for looking,
-Steven

Made a video today. I clearly have a lot of learning to do about videoing R/Cs. So, forgive me for the amateur first video. I see from reviewing how I need to improve. This video does not do any justice to the terrain I was going over in it.

I did not do a whole lot of editing, just a bit of trimming and some fades. It was composed in iMovie.

I did not suffer any body damage and nothing broke... Double bonus! My sliders and front and rear bumpers got a little abuse though. But hey, that;s why I built them.

Cheers,
-Steven

Very small Update:

Started working on the Roof Rack Clamps. They are coming along pretty well. The roof rack will pretty much be permanently fitted to this body. I'm ok with that though. I still have a bit of work to do, but I thought I'd post a couple of shots anyways.

So, here are the clamps cut and bent and one with the drill holes. There are 8 of these total.

Here you can see how they are fitted to the rack and body. I tried to mimic the 1:1 as best I could as they clamp under the rain gutter and bolt to the rack feet. You will also notice that there is a screw going through the rain gutter. I did this to make certain that my plastic welded on rain gutter does not fall off. The screws are covered by the rack clamps anyway. Unfortunately, I ran out of my .80 bolts and I will have to wait until Tuesday to get more from my LHS. In the meantime I will finish drilling holes in clamps and rack feet and paint the clamps to match the rack.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
-Steven
