New Bright Range Rover HSE Build Help

Hey guys, i am working on a new rig and i have had this Range Rover HSE body for years and am finally going to use it. Im in the middle of building a Jeep Jk from my scx10 chassis so that is all tied up right now, plus it is and inch or so too long.

I want to do something true to scale with this body. i am looking for recomendations from anyone who has experience with this body. I am sure i want to use internal spring shocks, probably RC4WD, becasue they are so clean and im playing around with colors as we speak (open minded so suggest if you have an idea). What i cant seem to choose is a chassis. i want something under $90 that is flat steel or aluminum, no c-channel. custom is fine as long as it is something i can make with a dremel and modest grinding and sanding tools.

Any help that i could get on this would be greatly appreciated! Pictures of your chassis and how its set up would be even better! thanks guys :)

Does anyone know if the RC4wd trail finder jeep edition chassis will work for the wheel base? i have the tamiya jeep styrene body as well so i could kill two birds with one stone.

ok what you need to do is find out the wheel base of your body its prolly 10 inches so look for a rig near 10 inch wheelbase

ok i think im going to go with the 10'' jeep PPC chassis from The Scale Shop. its reasonably priced and it seems like it is fairly adjustable. this way if it doesnt work for my Range Rover i can use it for my tamiya wrangler.

Another option may be the "L-Trail" frame from TCS Crawlers. It is meant for the Losi MRC, but can be made to fit anything. I put a RC4wd R2 tranny on that frame with just an extra hole on each side. It is a good frame for about 10 inch wheelbase rigs.

Do you have any pictures of how that looks on 1.9 hardware?

ok i went by goodwill on a gut feeling and lo-and-behold i found a 1/10th lr3 newbright body. it was in the packaging and everything and it only cost me $25. i think i will just start building a chassis for each and set them up the same. this thing is sexy! i will post pictures when i figure out how.

I've done a few of these. If its the HSE body I think it is its actually a little small for 1:10 scale. The Ltrail would be fine and the mini losi axles would be perfect. TLT axles are a little wide but I run my newbright rovers with them fine.

These are a little bigger than your HSE body.
