bmuzz1's 2011 class 2 Range Rover build "Now Highmarks 2012 C2" 12 Attachment(s) The past few weekends I've come to the realization that my Blazer as fun as it is, is a freaking pig and is not going to be a competitive rig if I'm able to make the trip to Montana as I'm planning. I have had this RASTAR Range Rover body for a while now, I even tried to sell it at one point but didn't get any takers, I'm happy about it now! I had remembered seeing a picture of this rig somewhere http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...pig56/new1.jpg and had been thinking about doing the same thing with mine and then War Pig beat me to it with his new class 2 build. :ror: I don't want to be a copy cat but I don't have another body just laying around so I'll have to make mine look different which shouldn't be too hard since I have only brazed a couple times and never a full chassis so I think he's safe. :ror: So enough rambling, on to the pics. Attachment 152540 Attachment 152541 Attachment 152542 Attachment 152543 Attachment 152544 Attachment 152545 Attachment 152546 It took a lot of trimming but I got the chassis to lay flat on the under body without sacrificing any of the interior. The tranny/spur gear should fit right under the dash. I may have to go down a couple teeth on the gear to avoid any rubbing but it will work. I'll post pics of the underbody later. Attachment 152547 Specs: SCX10 chassis Killer T Case power stroke shocks Axial tranny 45t motor MM esc CC bec Hobbico CS-170 servo Axial axles RC4WD steelies Rok Lox Blah blah blah! I also cleaned up the interior a bit and added some BOWTIE instruments, GPS, stereo, a laptop, etc. Attachment 152548 Attachment 152549 Here's a pic of the Blazer at it's first scale comp this past Sunday that this rig is replacing as my class 2 rig. I like the newer Land Rovers just for their headlighs. :ror: Keep at it Brian. "thumbsup" |
Thanks everyone! I hope to get the rest of the links made up tomorrow so I can get it to a rolling chassis, once that's been done I can figure out ride height and get started on the tube work. I still need to find a set of stock SCX10 shock mounts for it though so I may have to borrow my daughters until then. :???: |
Looks good....copy cat . I'm sure they will be different enough. Are you going to keep it blue? |

I'm sure with your skills they will be very different. yeah, I'm thinking about keeping it the blue. I put the ASTR stickers on the doors to try to discourage me from painting it, but we'll see that could change. Are you going with the same blue color scheme as last year? If so I may paint it then. 7 Attachment(s) not much of an update but I'll be taking my time with this one. I mentioned that everything was a tight fit in this thing because I am wanting to retain as much of the interior as possible and yet get the chassis flush with the floor, well here's a few pics that will show what I mean. I have had to do a lot of sanding, trimming and more sanding to get everything to fit. I only ended up with two 1/5" holes in the floor in front of the back seat where the frame rails sit. Attachment 152621 Attachment 152624 Attachment 152625 Attachment 152626 I also got my tranny mount brazed up and got the tranny mounted for mock up, talk about close! Schweet! Are the front drive shaft and the shaft for the divorced transfer case as frighteningly close in person? Looks like that angle might be a female dog! Nice looking build! Stay on it! "thumbsup" |
very cool Bri...."thumbsup" |
