Well some guy on scale just put together a 8x8 for $200 using 2 of the exceed MRC knock off's.. I went a head and ordered a couple of them up. Hopefully I can use everything from the kits 2 pull this project off.

You got a link to the Scale4x4 build? Curious what the end product will look like. Will be watching this one for sure though, I've always been interested in building a multi-axled truck.

Can you purchase separately the extra axle outputs you are going to need for the 2 through-axles?

Yes.. they have all the spare parts for them listed with the truck at nitrorcx. http://www.nitrorcx.com/1maxstrocr1.html Ckrc looks like they have upgrades as well.

got a little more cage work done.

some mock up tires.. I am either gonna run the kit tires which should be about this height or the mud pluggers..

Leafs then ? Yeah, his shock placement looks a little odd to me.

What are you planning for steering? I take it both front axles, but seperate servos or a single one?

No leafs. I am thinking a walking beam conversion like this, and substitute the kit coilovers for the air bags.

steering I am thinking 2 F350 bell cranks and single servo. I have a feeling undercab space will become premium before this is all over I dont think I will have room for 2 steer servos and a servo winch.. I would like to somehow cram a 3D engine under their to.
I dont think this would be to hard to wittle out of some pink foam

Got some frame rails cut they will be shortened up once the trucks get here.

I saw some one else was using 1/2 PVC for lockouts on the exceeds. So I went a little further and added some brake drums. using the MRC parts for mock up should be pretty close.

I guess I have to step this up a little to keep up with Stu and his scratch built cab. I like the way it looks as a double cab better anyway

Filled in the extra roof hole

filled in the muffler hanger hole in the top of the body while I was at it.

Going to need and rework the exo a little bit now..

Well I guess everything is relative isnt it.

I have to imagine if you really wanted to do something you would earn the money and do it.

I looked at the site you linked, but the descriptions are Chinglish and I can't make much sense of them. Could you fill me in on tire, wheel, hex size? Much appreciated I want to slap these under the Fast Lane Jeep that TRUS is selling.

Mine show on thursday according to UPS.

I think in general crawlers there is a thread going on them.

Dezfan has one in hand He could probably help you with specifics.. From everything I can tell its basically a MRC..

Got some axles..

tore the one truck down and got the pass threw made up.. I have heard several people complain about how loud these things are. The lack of grease on the gears would be the issue. My tranny was totally dry and the R/P gears were not much better. now everything is greased up and its pretty quiet at least running on the bench..

the walking beam set up. I am going to make some fake air bags for it

the delrin blocks are where the air bags will be placed.

I need some air bags.. here is what I came up with.

1/2" nylon clear tube

some shrink wrap.

a washer at the top of the tubing shrunk wrapped on.

then a copper closet supply line brazed to a angle with a washer inside of it..

I will stick a little spring inside of this contraption to complete it..

it actually has some dampening as is plus moderate extension which is all I wanted anyway..

Compressed. it still has some rubber compression at this point

full extension. over extension will be controlled with straps or shocks.

1 down 7 more to go
