Default project topkick

well i gave up on building the cj ( body was just to weak ) yet i still wanted something that not everybody had . i finally decided to go with proline gmc topkick body , now to put the scx in a midevil rack and stretch it a little . wheelbase is now 2 3/8" longer , i made the new links out of 8/32 all thread and revo ends with steel brake line sleeves .
here are some before pics

and now for some pics of the wheelbase change

so far so good i also lengthened the driveshaft but i didn't take a picture of it , still need to add to the frame and make some body mounts so i don't have post holes .

it's really not that hard , i use a yardstick cut in half and drilled with holes at the 1" mark the 13" mark the 13 1/2" and 14 1/2" marks ( the latter being for the topkick ) bolt it all together with the shock towers moved to the very rear of the chassis put your rod ends in and measure length and cut two . the top link right now is the old lower links connected to the three link piece and a spacer added to the end to get the extra length .

well if you don't want the duals sticking otu too far swap you in a narrower axle in the rear to accomadate for the duals so they don't sick out too cfar. hope this helps zach.

i may have figured out the duals for it but i think i am gonna be stuck with tires and wheels hanging out from the body .......oh well after looking at it in person it doesn't look to bad plus it has a massive footprint with the duals on it
