| KC's C2/G6 TJ BUILD...
OK GUYS THIS IS MY FIRST TRY AT DOING MY OWN TUBE WORK AND BRAZING SO WILL BE INTRESTING... below is my inspiration. i came across this 1:1 and was in love.. Project: Patriot II - Page 8 - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board my nephew hooked me up with the body so the build began... the hardest part of this build in my eyes was gonna be the rear quarter elipticle leaf setup. so i ordered 3 sets of leafs from rc4wd . with a dingo rtr in hand i dissassembled and set the body on the frame. was way to long... so hacked bout .5" off of front. then hacked off the back just behind the stock shock tower cross member. once i had the chassis cut i noticed that the tranny and motor were 1- way to high to keep interior 2- to far back so i had this incling to do somethin ive seen done b4. took the tranny mount section out of a spare set of frame rails and brazed them to the underneath side of the origional rails and also slid it fwd .5" that took care of both issues i had. thats all im going to describe for now till my pics get uploaded onto photobucket. this build is going to be as close to the 1:1 as i can make it. i have a long road ahead of me.... got some pics for ya here it is sliders.. front bumper fender tubes shock hoops cms mount... all the good stuff dont mind this gap below between tube and hood when the body is mounted its flush rear bumper thoughts? quarter elipticle leaf rear w/ damper to keep it smooth has primary leaf and 2 helper leafs so its not to flemsey used vanquish shock mount raisers to mount the leafs to so could use the damper still as well. im really likein the way this build is turnin out. just waitin on my mayhem wheels and 5point rings so this build will be on point with the 1:1 Last edited by kaneohecrawler; 04-10-2011 at 03:58 AM. |

did some initial testing today to see how she would do and im really satisfied with what she was able to overtake with... well... ease really.. the rear suspension setup did great not to much give but still allowing to flex when needed. gonna get my servo upgraded and motor to a 35t and then shell be right where she needs to be performance wise. and no those are not rock lox.... they are 100% IROKs... booyah Last edited by kaneohecrawler; 04-12-2011 at 01:11 AM. |

Looks pretty darn good for your first brazing! Nice job. I like the elliptical rear setup, don't see that often. Very original. I gotta get some of those its, are u switching to the prolines for a reason?

That looks pretty cool...I dig the 1:1. The cage will be hard, but looks like you already have a good start with the bumpers/sliders/fenders. |
