Default My Jeep Wrangler build

I was trying to trade this body for something else but nothing has come up yet.So I thought "hell just build it". So If anyone out there is looking for this body and has another hard body I might trade it still so LMK. Anyway I plan on building an old school straight chassis. Komodo Metal Axles "these things just look cool IMHO", RC4WD Planetary Transmission so I can get that motor as far forward as I can under the hood so theres no cutting the interior out, A RC4WD Disruptor Transfer Case So I don't have to gut the interior, A Integy 35T Motor, And Rok Lox Tires on 8 hole Axial 1.9 Beadlock wheels. The servo will be chassis mounted. Not 100% sure if I'll leave the leaf springs in the rear or I'll 4 link it. Kind of give it that 1:1 "daily driver/ weekend off roader " feel to it. OK now the pics.

WOW.... It's been a long time...LOL I started this thing finally.Everything is still in the mock up stage nothing's set in stone yet But I figured I'd post some pics and see what you guys thought..

First is a pic with the body on. I cut the cage off right behind the middle cross bar.

Next I took the rear bumper and relocated it to the front and added a bar from the Proline bumper set.

I mounted a Proline rear bumper on the back.(you'll see how I mounted it in the last pic)

This is a shot of the plain chassis and all the electronics. The white bar going across the chassis in front of the motor is for the body posts. You see them in the last pic.(Never mind the crappy wiring) Like I said it's in mock up.

Another shot of the crappy wiring...lol

Last is the under side of the body. I put the body posts where the body screwed on from the factory. That way I could put a bar across the chassis and drill a couple holes for them to go through then I just put pins on the bottom holding the body down. I cut some holes where the body is under the dash so I could run a Velcro strap to hold the battery. And you can see how I mounted the rear bumper as well. Also I didn't have to cut any of the interior out to get everything to fit under the body.

I'm going to give it a "Weathered beat up" looking paint job. So let me know what you guys think..

Yeah they are pretty big. I don't know why they're that big. They usually aren't. Oh well thanks. I'm glad you like it.

I did some work on the body. Here's a peek at what I got going on. Let me know if you want to see more.

That's right...Hairspray and salt rust...It works like a champ.

Not hard at all I took some DOT 3 Brake fluid and a green Scotch bright pad. I put some of the fluid in a old spray bottle. I'd spray it on let it set for 15- 20 minutes and then spray the pad pretty good and scrub on it a bit. Most of it came off on the first or second go around. I hope that helps ya out.

Thank you very much..

I think I may be ditching the 1.9 Roc Lox and moving up to a set of 2.2 tires and wheels. The 2.2's seem to look more scale and fill those wheel wells a lot better. I still got to make the inner fenders and paint that shiny frame. So I'll let you guys know as soon as I figure it out.

Ok added some scale bungee cords to the top of the roll bar and a chain up front. I did go with the 2.2's. They look much better I think.
