So the plan is, drop the whole skid, axles, links, shocks etc to shake the RTR off this thing as a complete unit (going to bolt that to a set of rails to make a rig for the lady) and replace everything with functional and good looking components. Step one, front axle. -SSD housing -overdrive HD gear -LockedUp locker -fast Eddy bearings -SSD c's, knuckles and axles I need to decide what diff cover I want to use, so I'm pausing here and moving to the rear. |

I also got some LockedUp SLW 185 hubs, did two things, brought my track width back in ever so slightly, and let me install some LockedUp 4-40 acorns too. The SSD hubs will tap out to 4-40 pretty easy if you don't want to buy the hubs since there are not 2.5 scale acorns at the moment. I did that for my spare. Just clean the hole up with a #43 bit first |

It's really coming together now. The grill and bumpers blacked out dialed in the look |

So I stripped everything off the chassis and set it aside for another build. Replaced everything wit what we see here. -SSD axles, knuckles and Cs -SMW skid -R2J lower links (bent the lowers a bit) I need to nail down the other lengths and hit him up to get matching links for the others. -hand bros cms ( might swap that out for a welded mount ) Gonna burn this in tomorrow so I can raise those rear links up. Hoping to get my TIG setup and use that. Otherwise the MIG will do fine.. Back on all 4s, once I get the links worked out, I'm going to make shock hoops, and might open up the wheel openings a tad. |

Link risers in, and chassis painted. Needed a thin panhard bar to help clear everything up there. Went this way because I don't have an M3 die. Turned a couple long screws to fit in a 1/8th inch stainless tube Melted them together And bam! It fits Opened those wheel openings And tightened up the grille fitment I think it's staring to look pretty alright |

Just caught this from front to back... so awesome and so well thought out... considering it started with a vision but no plans and just took shape. See what you meant in my SSD parts thread about the full axle set etc... they do look marvelous ! |

Amazing lexan bodied rig. I can't think of one detail I dislike. |

LockedUp slipper eliminator and a Duratrax spur solved my clearance issues, I did make a small stainless spacer to sit between the spur hub and top shaft bearing to take out some of the top shaft slop created by how the pin sits in the top gear. Plenty of room now, with the slipper I was into the bed before. BTW that SMW skid is pretty darn awesome. Painted up the Dinky interior. This one is meant for a Honcho, but a bit of trimming and It fits MINT All installed, threw a pair of shifters in there and a steering wheel for good measure. just enough room for a 3s 2200 pack you will also note I got a coat of flat clear on the body. To help protect the water base paint, and take a bit of shine off. |

Looking damn good, I like the sheer simplicity of this build so far. You consider mounting the spare against the cab standing up or is there too little space with your shock tower?
