Default Custom cage

Hiya, I'm starting a build with my scx10 that SHOULD eventually be a FJ truggy. So I was wondering what people make their roll cages out of? My dad has a brazer so it has to be suitable to braze! Thanks very much

3/16 non coated brakeline you can use solid rod but brakeline helps keep the weight down

Its hella cheap at napa and its all straight pieces... also chromoly tube is strong as hell and still save weight... and is brazable.

This brake pipe, what's it made from? I went to the car parts shop near me and what they gave me was copper tubing that had no strength to it, is that ok when you braze bits on? It will get stronger?

You need steel brake line or could use solid steel rod (which weighs more). If it is copper and weak, it will not work, and will not get stronger after brazing. The brazing torch will probably melt the copper. It should be a tube strong enough that you need a tubing bending tool to form your bend.

One thing you need to remember is that most of the people on here either have ADD or the attention span of a 2 year old or both (myself included) and unless you post some nice pictures for us to look at we will loose interest quickly. So post up some pics man!

Why is this here? Should be in TOOLS AND PROCEDURES... or better yet if you scour that section you will find all the info you need from the countless others who've asked these same ?'s before.

i have no pictures to post :/ my mum told me (cause i ordered my shizz from her ebay account... im only 16 ) that the body will arrive on the 20th supposedly, so for now its just a normal scx10 and everyones seen one of those?

also the news about the body coming on the 20th is crap because i wanted to bring the truck with me to france which i leave for on the 26th... and i cant start the cage if i dont have the body
