Default General M915 type of 6X6 ....Its a Roller

Well since I sold my comp crawler , and my heart is in the scalers anyway , I need a new build. I was going to build a KOH rig , but I think the Wraith will dominate the 2.2 class 3 stuff. And I've always liked the 6X6's........
SO Here We Go.
OK I dont want nobody shooting at me cause this dont turn out looking JUST like a M915. That is where I'm getting my inspiration , the rest is coming from deep in the dark places in my mind. Here is some inspiration pics. Think of these on Steroids..lol

I know this is a Rio , still cool looking.

This just looks Bad Azz

Some of these old military trucks got some MEATS on em....

Truth is that I'm not that great with styrene , and dont want to look a fool with some bad styrene work. So I just ordered a King Hauler cab and stuff from Joe's( should be here in a few days) , and will go from there.
I'm not sure on how wide to make the frame rails until I get the cab....wait on that.
I have been gathering some parts here and there for a few weeks now.
I had bought these tires for something else , but I think they will fit this build pretty well. Mashers narrowed and reduced to 1.9. I got ready to glue the first one and found my BRAND NEW bottle of IC-2000 was all hard and dried up
So I just cut em all and got them ready to glue...I need 2 more for the spares. I ordered 1 more set and 2 bottles of IC-2000 from A-Main tonight.

Got me some of the GH Racing Jigsaw Rims from Cory at RPP too Cheaper than the alternative.

I picked up a C2C transfer case from a guy , good price , and I like the fact that I can disengage the rear wheels, kind of like a dig without lockup on the rear. Should be here tomorrow on the brown truck.
I'm going to run a RC4WD R2D ..2 speed with a dig....tranny. Mounted under the hood , with the dig end pointing to the front of the truck ( more on that later ) I have quite a few motor options at my disposal.
Goat 3S and 18.5 sensored brushless
FXR with a 35T motor
HH 10T puller with ....an FXR or MM.

Some servo's HS-7950th's , LED's and the alum channel I will use for the frame rails. It's about .645" tall X .3" deep , I'll probably cut it down to .25 deep.

And not to forget HeyOk's winch controllers ( one is for my Dingo )

Axles you say......"Dwane what axles are you gona put under this Monstrocity"

Well my Dady always said " Son if your gona do something....do it to the best of your abilities , if it aint right.....F%$K em...at least you gave it your best shot"

OK...........

I think it needs some of these

As soon as I get rid of my

I will be ready to order them babies up. ( couple of weeks I hope, I got half the money saved up anyway )
I know huhhh , $580 in my shopping cart at RC4WD........My wife will shat if she finds out, and I'll get shot.

Well thats about all I got for now. I'm not real good at build threads or posting comments for that matter. I WILL try and keep ya'll updated on this build. My builds usually go pretty fast , but this one will take a while.

Thanks for looking
Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Nice, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I have a pile of Mashers that look exactly like those, need to get some more CA.

Man I tried to find that pic again to see where I got it ....dammed if I cant find it again. It is a cool looking monster.

Well I got a few things in the mail since last post.
I was scared to death to open this one , to see what was broke...

Amazingly nothing was broke

This will go under the saw soon , ditch the sleeper and those fenders

Ohhh my sweet little transfer case came in too.

Ohh those damm tires are a PITA , and mounting those one piece beadlocks will drive you to drinking
One down 7 to go.

HAA Haa , that one will be a spare...had to reduce it a bit more, so its got 2 seams...ohh well

Holl Shit , its been more than a few days.......2 months to the day WOW
Never thought it would take that long to build up a Dingo

Well I put the Goat in the Dingo , sold the FXR , still have the 7T Coblats ,guess thats what I'll use ,IDK

I'm going to order axles on Thursday and get this build started.

Well my axles should be here tomorrow or Wednesday , needed something to do....
Painted my wheels with some Gun-Kote , its a bake on finish , tough as nails. I'm going with OD Green on the outside and black on the inside.
I also weighted and drilled all of them.
I had previously rusted all of the bolts for the wheels , took about 2 days to get all of the black coating off of them.
on to some pics , like I said this is all paint , and durable too. The other 6 are baking in the oven at 325deg F.

More in a day or two.

I've been checking back on this one for sure - interesting build!

Did you end up selling your Jeep then? I didn't see it in the ads.
How did you do the steering on it (I see the servo arm hanging down the side rail, prob to a pivot on the axle?) ?

Yea Sweli , it had a pivot on the axle. Yep its GONE.

Well I got my axles and a bunch of leafs and hangers and ......
I bought delrin leafs and HiLift and the soft red's because I had no idea which springs might work. I think the HiLifts are going to be the ticket.
Built a jig to hold the axles where I wanted them @ a 16" WB

Just looking at how its gona lay out.

Made the frame from some 1/2"id aluminum channel , cut most of the side off. Its id is now 1/2" X 1/8" , just wide enough for the R2D tranny @ 2.75" .
Put the front springs right under the frame rails , so I can get maxium turning from the XVD's.
Rear springs will be on the outside of the frame. Will be fabrication the Walking Beams and saddles tomorrow.
Should have some what of a roller tomorrow night.

This is going to be a great build from which a lot of people will read over and over again. Lots of great ideas. Thanks Dwane
