I hate this thread. Only because every time I read it, I get to the end and the project is not finished.

Wet paper towel is for soaking/softening the flux after brazing. Typical method is to dunk the whole part in a tub of water. This method uses less water because your only wetting slivers of paper towel. I reuse the paper towel strips over and over till they get packed with flux and get too brittle.

blasted again. time do decide on paint color

If you don't mind me asking, what do you use to make the gussets? I only ask because the edges are clean and
Holes are all perfectly alike. Very nice so far!!!

The paint looks good, but it's killing me! I'm still stuck on the raw steel! Can you blast it one more time and let it hang out for a while?

They are thin guage mild steel or stainless steel (I forget exact guage), hand cut with a saw and edges filed. Holes are drilled with either a split drill bit and or a unibit/step drill bit to refine/enlarge the hole. Dont skimp on high quality bits here because cheaper, import/Chinese bits for example, will never EVER accurately drill proper holes. A helpful hint is if you have to make more than one of any gusset, rough cut the shape of how ever many you want to make. Stack all the rough cut gussets together, clamp together or super glue together. Then drill 2 holes preferably on a drill press through all the plates. These holes dont have to be final size - you just want holes so you can bolt the plates together. I prefer 2.5mm or 2mm bolts. Now that the plates are bolted together and aligned you can manipulate by cutting, filing, drilling to your content and all the plates will be the same. If your 'bolt holes' need enlarging remove one bolt and enlarge one free hole then clamp over the enlarged hole and enlarge the remaining hole(s) Once done - unbolt, if superglued lightly sand and you're ready to braze. Hope that all makes sense.

spent the afternoon decanting spray paint so here goes the first couple coats of airbrushed "army green"

She just gets better and better. If I built this and put that much love into it I could never drive it.....it would find a happy home on the shelf and progress with its "queen" like status
