Default Jeep Thing

This is my first scale build that isn’t a kit. I had gotten the body two years ago and never got around to start the build. I will be building my own links, slider, bumper, roll cage. I’m not sure what I’m going to do to body yet as far as cutting it up. I’m really not sure of shocks to run. I would like to be able to run 1.9s or 2.2s as well. I’m going to get water proof electronics. Let me know what you think my wheelbase lining up with the body. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated but be easy on me.

Body: New Bright
Axles: RC4WD ARB T-Rex 60
Chassis: GCM Cross Canyon Kit
Tans: Axial
Motor: Team Brood 35t Onslaught Type GS

Here are a couple pics of some mock ups. The last one is my bumper idea I'm playing with. Easier to do with cardboard first then go to metal.

Well the pictures of it look good, a bit blurry but at least you can see them, as compared to the BLACK text color you choose..

Other then not being able to read what you wrote ( I know shocker huh?, some of us actually read the post ) It looks like your off to a good start.

How are you liking the GCM Chassis? Does it fit the those bodies well without hacking into the interior?

Thx I really like the chassis I will post pics once I finish mounting it. I didn't have to cut into the interior at all.

Coolness, I have had one for a long time, just haven't done anything with it yet, and hey I can read your post now.. Thanks.

x2 on pushing the front out a bit and maybe even a little in the rear too (1/8"?) If you plan on running 2.2's at some point, you'll want the rears just a hair forward of center (center at full compression) and the front a good bit forward (1/4"?) but really depends on what size 2.2 tire. This will allow you to keep the body lower where it belongs.

Haven't post anything lately. Been playing with my new wraith. So here are some updates. Body mounted, front bumper started and pushed front axle forward a little. Have to do some clean up on front body mounts and finish bumper. Then on to making upper links and link mount on axles.

Haven't posted in awhile but have made some progress. Links made and a fuel tank to put electronics in. Not sure about ride height. Have to decide on shocks, would like to get something more scale.

Cut the front part of roof off and glue to the rear section for a completely removable roof. Made a cage and started stripping paint off the body. Not sure if I'm done with the cage thinking I may add another support and cross bar at the rear seats. May cut fenders not sure about that yet. Next thing to make is rockers and a rear bumper.
