Default krawls tundy

I will start this off by saying this is my first real venture into the scale world...

I built this truck so i could run in the AZ shootout's G6 run as well as the axial west coast G6 event. there were only two criteria it had to have.....IT HAD TO WORK AND IT HAD TO LOOK GOOD DOING IT

i began with a pretty standard axial scaler i recieved from a genleman here on the board. it was full of the needed upgades to the axles and tranny, but it needed a little Y-Town flair.

i began tearing it apart as soon as i recieved it and started bending up some solid rod into the creation below.

i didn't get quite as many pics as i would have liked due to the extremly short timeframe i was working with so the first pics are with the majority of the rear cage done.

now, being used to the amount of steering my comp rigs had i just couldn't live with the stock setup.

i ended up using some beef tubes to strengthen up the front housing and also let me use the xr knuckles and axles. i think this is a much more realistic looking axle and the steering is phenominal

you can also see the new panhard mount that has been pushed foward slightly.

now that the cage work and drivetrain were complete i moved on to some styrene work

again this was my first attempt so take it easy on me.

rear of the cab had to filled in and i also decided a fuel cell was in order.

i needed to figure out a grill so i fired up the cnc and cut out this.

with the light buckets

i had to make up some "scale items" including expanded mesh i cut out of delrin.

painted up and ready for some G6 action

"I just fired up the cnc"? Just so you know, you suck Does that mean we'll be seeing some scale Y-town parts?

watching very bad performing scalers didn't do it for me.... i loved the idea but wasn't in to the reality of it working like poo.

i gotta say chasing my truck through a few hundred of parkers gates with a big stupid grin on my face has changed my mind.

and ya.....like crack cocain

nice build, seems to be a popular platform now. I think this is the 3rd or 4th I've seen on rcc. I never get tired of it at all. love the grill and the clean lines, very nice work.

we had the heavily rock weighted dump truck tow..... it pulled a wheely and tightened the tow rope to the point i had to cut it off to proceed to the finish.
