Default DarkmanX attempts a Truggy

Ok this is my first scaler and the first time I have ever brazed before, so don’t hate on me too much. I also want to say that the level of respect I have for some of the fabricators on this site has increased by x20. This will hopefully be a G6 Tundra Truggy when I get done. So far I am happy with how it is turning out and as always I am open for sugestions.
Usual Specs
Scx10 honcho
Tekin 17.5 brushless
Rc4wd winch
Future upgrades
GCM axle housings
VP high clearance knuckles
Super 300 axles
MIP Drive shafts
Proline Power strokes
Full interior
I know there’s more I just can’t think of them right now! Anyway on to the crappy cell phone pics!

It is a MAPP+OXY Brazing kit I got at Homedepot. Here's the link.

Give yourself some credit... at least you're trying! It only gets easier, and now you have another skill under your belt. The first cage I built I kept muttering in my head, damn there's some talent on the forum! Two sticks of deodorant and a stiff neck later, I had something to look at! The cage looks pretty good! Keep your bird's mouths clean and don't over braze and it will clean up nicely for paint. Keep rockin and post up the progress

I think you mean fish mouths.
A chainsaw file the same diameter as the tube you're using will help with that.
Nice work on the truggy, I need a little torch set up like that so I can give it a go.

Keep up the good work.

I just checked out the price here for that kit, AU$135.00 compared to your US$60.00
Sometimes it sucks to live here. Sometimes.

That's looking good lance. As one post already said birds mouth the joint, and a little silver goes a long way. I really like that tundra body.

Thanks man!! I am acually coping the joints and the welds are better tha what the pics are showing with a little grinding they will be good to go. I am using a brass brazing rod with the outside flux already on it. I will hopefully beable to do some mock up on this so I can build the sliders, tub and front bumper.
I still don't know what front bumper design I want! What do you guys thing I should do?

When you figure that out let me know I am still stumped on what i want my front bumper to look like. I went on a couple of 4x4 parts sites and looked at their bumpers and found some I like. Likeing them and fabbing them up are 2 different things.

I also like the sessions beer bottle in the background. stubbies ftw

Updates! After not having a lot of time to put into this, I finally was able to get some stuff done on this. THe fab is almost done and then we will be off to paint. I will have to adjust the wheelbase on this thing a little to get it to where I want it. Anyway on to the pics! LMK what you guys think!!!
