Need a bit of help please guys. Ok so I've nearly finished my hilux body and got it mounted on the scx10. The normal suspension set up with the honcho body worked really well, but with the hilux the front wheels rub against the front of the arches unless I raise the body and wind in the springs so the front is really stiff. It doesn't look right this way either.

Looking through all the hilux pics I see some are trimmed off under the bumper and some are not. Ideally I'd like not to have to cut off the front. so how are you guys running your suspension setups to give reasonable flex without the wheels rubbing?

I'd really appreciate some comments as I can't figure this out by myself, Thanks Neil.

On my last 'Yota build actually 'rolled' the fenders by using a heat gun (on low) and a wooden dowel that pressed between the tire and fender.

just let them rub, or file the openings a bit.
the lugs chomping the body sounds cool.

That is a sharp looking build.

I trimmed my flares off by about half way around to get more room for the tires...

Add fuel tubing the piston of the shock so its bumped stopped right before they rub.

BTW I like the yellow with the black hood and sr5 stripes "thumbsup"

Ya it does!!!!

You could try playing with a semi-drooped suspension so you get more down travel instead of up. Personally, I let mine rub, but the fenders on that yellow truggy are really nice!

Guys, thanks for the replies, they've helped a lot. Think I'll try a combination of the bump stops and semi drooped as I like the body to sit fairly low with good suspension travel for slow motion video..
