Had a little brazing to join the front and rear parts of the cage and of course while I was working on it, I broke another joint so had to braze that too. Did a rough clean up and will smooth it all out before paint. Got the rear axle rebuilt with the new Highland Crawlers XHD Lockers and Underdrive. Mocked up the rear suspension and got the links cut and sleeved. Using custom links on top and Axial aluminum on the bottom. Mounted the steering servo and the CMS kit. Mounted the tires on the new rims. New brushes in the motor and new middle gear in the tranny. Mounted it up with the rear shaft (MIP) Threw the spare on with the tranny cover to see how it looked. Now to start on the front axle, and to see if I can get the shop warm enough to paint. |

I hope so, the paint is going to be the hardest thing, I don't think I can get it warmer than 50 in my shop. I may do some rattle cans. Those I can keep inside along with what I need to paint, take it out and paint then bring it in to dry. Of course I have to wait for the snow to stop. This pro10s look good don't they? I think I am going to get a set for my Hilux as they have a smaller offset so they will tuck into the fenders better. |

Nice list of goodies you get to build with! Like that tubework! Staying with black on the body or other?? |

Nope, I have a new body, going with a color called Carmel Yellow, kind of a dark school bus yellow. The tubes are staying black, and the tranny cover silver. I am not settled yet on the rear deck cover but leaning towards staying black there to. I am going to add front inner fender wells and add some plate to skin the inside of the rear tube bumpers.

No more Pics, but, made a snorkel and got it painted along with the new body. Working on the headboard, luckily for me, Rocksolo made a good one so I just disassembled the old body, reclaimed the headboard and am painting it to match the new body. I will post some pics of the snorkel and the body tomorrow, hopefully. Get the front axle built and am having serious problems. I am using shaved Axial axle cases, High Steer knuckles, clockable Chubs, the original Beef Toobs, Axial Universals and a Highland Crawler Locker. All of those together result in an axle that won't move. Got some recommendations and I will disassemble it again, grind a hair off of each side of the toobs and reassemble, test and repeat as needed till it works. |

Few pics of the body with the paint done, mirrors, grill, lights and snorkel on. The Headboard is in primer, so might get it done today. Still a little cleanup to do on the windows, I really dislike cheap paint masks which is all Tamiya makes. Let there be lights And the rest Snorkel |

Solved the axle problems, shaved down the ends of the toobs. Got the 3 link upper made and mounted up the axle with the panhard setup done. Made a new steering link. I think I got the panhard angle just right, pretty easy with the CMS kit. I think it sits a bit too high, but after the rest of the bed parts, interior, electronics and accessories, it might be ok. Obligatory flex shots Threw the body on to see how it looks |

I agree, it sits a little to high, maybe put some limiters inside the shocks?

I agree, I want to wait till i have all the stuff on it. If it still sits high, I will limit the shocks. I did get the headboard installed, started on skinning the rear tube fenders, added a Propane Fuel Cell. Also started on the interior and finished up the dash. Putting lights in the dash and cab as I ordered a harness with too many bulbs. I though the headlight mounts included flashers, but oh well. |
