Default TA02 Blackfoot Baja Racer

I had another Blackfoot body, so I threw a TA02 under it and came up with this. After cutting out the bed and extending the rollbar with coat hangers (great idea, exesivefire) and adding a spare tire holder and fuel tank from a Tamiya big rig (not pictured) this is it so far.

This is only the guide coat, there's still a lot of sanding and some bodywork ahead, but I'm not going to kill myself. This truck is going to get used. A lot.

Paint job will be a knockoff of what Ford had on their Baja trucks in the 80's.

I like the whole concept but that chassis and body don't mesh, you better give it a real good paint job. i like the rollbar and tire

Nice job as usual Stu, but I have to say I agree with the crowd for once. The body idea you have is so thoroughly established that you might want to consider deviating from plan a little. The TAO2 is shaft driven, how about tossing a stealth tranny, a long 4 link, and a Semi Truck rear axle into that thing while keeping the independent front suspension? Or add a set of front arms from an Associated DS? Then we'd be talking Baja racer. I know you're supposed to be scrapping everything until the half track is started, but your present chassis doesn't do this project Microgoat justice. Maybe it actually needs to be in the 2wd Trophy Truck class.

Nooooo, this was supposed to be the easy, slap-a-body-on-and-run-it project!

WAAAAHHH! If you guys keep this up I'll be walking around muttering to myself by the time I'm 42. Wait. I'm already 42. And I do that anyway.

I hate you guys I really didn't want to tear into that last TLT kit, but if y'all are gonna insist.....

mutter mutter....

Nope, not gonna do it. I gave this thing its first real trail outing today, and it surprised the hell out of me. With only a pair of locked diffs, otherwise bone stock, it kept up with the other trucks I was running with (envious8420's TLT and exesivefire's Indy truck) on the trails with more speed than either of them, and it's also the new Cleveland Mudbog Champion. And it's a really good jumper, too.

Yes, there's video. I'll post it up when I get it.
