Default My 1.9 Tuber

You all may have seen this in the classifieds recently, well i couldnt resist. I got it chassis only, and am slowly putting it together.
Tuber chassis by spyderwebbcustoms.
AX10 axles with all the aluminum goodies.
Locked Axial tranny. Stock gearing for now.
Stainless links.
4 link trusses.
Chassis mounted servo. Hitec 5645
Shocks are just stock SCX10's for now.
MIP shafts.
1.9 Baja Claw TTC on stock Axial's.
Its got chassis mounted 3s lipo's.
Still not decided on a esc yet, would like to try a Torquemaster.
Got a DX3E coming for it.
Well heres a few pics, comments welcome and hints appreciated.

Bought some used axles so figured better give them the once over.

Steering set up.

Really like the link mounts.

Axles mounted then the aluminum goodies showed up in the mail.

Two batts mounted inside, so theres a spare when needed.

Got the claws mounted, these things are sticky..

Flat Iron for a spare until my extra claw shows up.

Underbody shot.

Kitchen counter flex shot.

Couple poser shots.

More plans to come once electronics are decided.
Some lights definitely and may switch over to aluminum skin panels.
Looking at different wheel options also and shocks.

I like the look of the claws better than the flat irons. hope you like it. ended up trying to figure out how to do the cantilever steering, and came up with them. did the front so decided to do the back as well.

the steering set up works great. no bump steer at all. when the axle cycles up and down, and the cool thing is their is a lot of room to be able to put a servo winch under the hood as well.

I noticed theres one thing i need to change is to come up with a different steering link. Need to use a bowed link to get it awya from the axle. I believe it would give me a bit more steering.

if you use the offset axial rodends it would give you more steering.

Killer score on the Chassis! The whole build looks really good. If the steering setup works....I applaud you. Something different, but really cool. Keep posting, this is worth watching.

Stared at it long enough and decided there are too many black tubers around here so stripped it down and started sanding.

Figured with a job this big, going to need a extra set of hands.
Meet Durk..

dude, the thing is cool, but what the heck happened to that flat iron spare? looks like you left it on your rig witch had that wheel sitting on a rock for a year.

Bought a set of those from a member and they all came out of the box like that. It was very odd, took them apart and as soon as I pulled the rings they puffed back in place. The one in the pic wasnt pulled apart yet. Its almost like they were put into a vaccum chamber.

Elevation change from wherever they came from. When I bought my honcho new it came from California (sea level) to Utah and the flat irons were balloons! When I took the bead off the air pressure hissed out

Well Durk got the chassis all sanded and put the first coat of primer on.

Showing the site a little love..

Sent ole Dirk to the hardware and he came back with this, he figured we should show the Vols some love.

Got the first coat on.

Dirk figured while we were waiting on paint to dry might as well tinker on the Wreckluse chassis, so look for it here in the 1.9 as well..
