My suggestion at the least is send the front axle to Shane with vp scale chubs and wraith knuckles,VP cvd's for Shane to work his magic. After seeing his flatbed with with axle mods, I'm convinced this is the way to go for steering.

My son Gavin took a liking to the FToy several months ago. He decided to lower the gearing for Rock crawling. He installed a 90T spur gear and left the cover off. Gavin also swapped out the RC4WD shocks that didn't hold oil to well for a set of Proline shocks that he tuned. Some pics of the FToy on the rocks;

The FToy is off to Michigan and its next adventure. It was traded for a well built unimog. The FToy was given a good cleaning for pictures and its only fitting they be added to the thread. The new adult owner is well aware of the history of this FToy. The new owner is planning to powder coat the cage black and create new panels. On to the pics:

You can mount a scale engine to an SSD transmission?

This “scale” engine slips over the brushed motor. Exclusive R/C 22re I believe.

Hilarious! What a history this build has. I'm glad to see it back with Szczerba Built. Did you happen to get the embroidered top back with it? If so, may I acquire it from you? The 22RE 3d printed topper is well done

I'm commending Shane on his choice in drivetrain/build. They're both F-Toys with the same mechanical drivetrains. I'm not saying mine is better.

It wasn't meant that way.

Oh cool. I'm looking into one of those transmissions and I am in the market for a scale engine.

Glad to get it back. Going for a bare bones comp look, going to be interesting to see where I hide a battery. Joe said he forgot to put it in the box. He is shipping it to you.

GCM sells a similar motor on their shapeways site. Check out imthatguy’s build to see one.

Thanks. I wanted to do something that looked a tad bit different and have some purpose. Couldn’t really come up with a cool look for the back of the skid, so I just did a straight line.

Edit. Mockup of dash, steering column and gauge panel.
On a second note, Battery placement will be a fun activity during this build. Going for a bare bones one-seater look with most everything exposed.
