So I have always wanted an 80 Toyota truck since I was a kid in the 80s, but instead I got cars cause my dad did not think a truck for a kid was a good idea and he never got any of my cars for more than $200 so I am going to build my own. I know they have been done a lot but mine will get a bed cage with a soft canopy, I also have the rear of the cab interior will be later. Thought about it for a while and came up with this...    Good junkyard doors and hood, we will see how it looks when I am done, I can always repaint it. So I did more work on the body, here is version 1    I did not really like the color contrast so I went with a different color on the doors and hood, also did the bed black.   Added a little bling...   Door looks well used...  Hood too...  So I got it mounted up and put in a dash and driver...     Now I am mocking up my rear rack/cage for that expedition truck look.      I like how the front hoop is above and outside the rear cab corners, cause I may want to exo cage the front too...  Last edited by DIRTYGTI; 08-01-2012 at 09:56 AM. |

 It's not bad. I would've used a rust color instead of white to make it look a little more realistic. Still better than I can do.

My buddys wife gave it the ultimate complement when I showed her a pic on my phone, she said "what are you going to do with that piece of crap truck?" I told her it was my RC truck and she still did not believe me till I showed her it was on a glass table... |
