| Taco Time!
Oh Yeah! Wrecker came down for a visit on monday and he got put to work. I originally wanted to make Raisin, but after mentioning I had a cut up Honcho body sitting around Richard convinced me we needed to make that into a buggy. It started out with the Wraith platform, but we realized it was a ton of work to get it all done and I wasn't 100% on board with it. So I happened to have a SCX10 platform ready to go from another chassis I was making. We mocked it up and it just looked right. Richard left town Wednesday morning and it was my turn to go to town. Richard got a lot of the top done and I took over after that. As of today I think I got most of the brazing done including 44 nuts to hold the body and misc. pieces on. Here is how it is sitting today. Sorry I was too lazy to set up the seamless. The rear bed panels are from a HPI mini trophy truck and after a lot of cutting and bending they fit pretty well. The roof is going to get a aluminum panel, hopefully I can cut and bend that this weekend. I am contemplating the idea of a rear engine... not sure yet though. I might do a 2D interior as well... Then again I have all these seats to choose from. Going to try and get it sand blasted and painted in the next couple days, then I can start some assembly and see how much interior will fit in Taco Time! -Ty |

Its pretty small, right at 12.25". Looks like the Honcho would fit good on there, Im sure you could get one in the classifieds for pretty cheap. On another note I have been thinking about paint a lot lately, right now I am leaning toward and Ivan Stewart theme. Last edited by TURTLE; 08-18-2012 at 09:13 AM.

Tore this rig apart this morning and handed the chassis off to Rodney to get sand blasted. Also started picking out some scale parts and detailing some "accessories". I will try to get some photos tomorrow. For now a little 1:1 inspiration.

Looks great Ty! I love the stance. Those pit bulls look killer on there. How's the height compared to the claws?

Thats sweet! Of course you show me that after I start planning to put a hollow fuel cell in the back for a battery to hide. Speak of the devil! Thanks buddy. I got a little Mikey-ness done in the last couple of days. Axial Exo Optima battery painted wired and detailed. I think this is a Proline hilift jack, detailed a little. Another part from the Exo Terra kit a little detailing and bam! Wasn't sure which size I wanted for brake lights, so I used some Tamiya red clear on two sizes of Axial buckets. And my old Bruder gas can with some detailing, not sure if I have a place for it yet, but its ready if I do. I can't remember where I got this extinguisher, but its ready too. For some odd reason I felt compelled to turn the Tamiya Hilux long board into a Short board today. Thats ok I got an idea for a new build based around the board. Most of a Wild Willy Driver is done too, but I honestly don't think there will be room for him. Thats ok he looks like he wants to be a surfer anyway. And then I got board and worked on a model I started last year. Tuesday I should have the chassis back and then I can get back on track with Taco Time. -Ty
